Which amazing albums will be out in 2018?

Arctic Monkeys will be back with a new album in 2018!
Sinéad and Grimmy are happy to hear that Sheffield's finest are working on a new album.
Brace yourselves for impact, because it turns out that Sheffield's finest Arctic Monkeys are well and truly on board for delivering us an album in 2018. Which sounds SO far away but, let's face it, isn't - after all it's basically Christmas now, right? The exciting news has set us to wondering, what other albums should we be saving our spends for in the new year? Read on, because Radio 1 has it covered...
1. Arctic Monkeys

Alex Turner and the gang have been on haitus and working on outside projects since 2014, following the release of their fifth album AM. But the group have revealed that they are working on new material, and recently announced that we can expect their next record to arrive next year.
Bassist Nick O’Malley told motorcycling magazine For the Ride that the band had started recording an album and that it should be due out in 2018. “If it isn’t," he said, "We’ve got problems.”
2. Craig David

Craig David - Live Lounge
Craig David performs a new track, an acoustic ‘7 Days’ and does a mash up for the cover.
Craig David made one of the most satisfying and well-deserved comebacks in UK chart history with his 2016 album Following My Intuition. The virtuoso vocals, acrobatic mash ups and jumping beats showcased in his TS5 parties have also kept us dancing everywhere from Ibiza to Glastonbury - and what's more, he's just a really NICE person.
So the announcement that his new album The Time Is Now (named after one of his favourite life mottos) will be released on January 26 2018 was a pretty massive one. The album is set to feature collaborations with Bastille, Kaytranada and JP Cooper, and the first single Heartline (produced by Jonas Blue) is out now.
3. Charli XCX

Charli XCX
Highlights of Charli XCX's set at Glastonbury 2015
Charli XCX has been a busy bee this year. In March she released her mixtape Number 1 Angel, with an all female line-up of guest acts including MØ and RAYE.
In July she released the smash hit Boys, complete with an incredible self-directed music which overturned stereotypical music video constructs and featured a range of male stars from Charlie Puth to Stormzy.
Her third album, the follow up to 2014's sucker, looks likely to be released in spring 2018 - but there's no real date confirmed just yet.
4. Fall Out Boy

It feels like we've been waiting a loooooong time for M A N I A, the seventh album from pop punk veterans Fall Out Boy, but it turns out we'll all just have to wait a little longer - until January 19 2018, to be precise.
While it was originally going to be out around about now, frontman Patrick Stump revealed on Facebook:
“We are pushing the record release date back. The album just really isn’t ready and it felt very rushed. I’m never going to put out a record I genuinely don’t believe is at least as strong or valid as the one that came before it and in order to do that we need a little bit more time to properly and carefully record solid performances.”
The album's lead single, Young and Menace, had an unexpectedly strong EDM twist - so we're banking on hearing some more interesting revolutions in the Fall Out Boy sound with this record.
5. Rudimental

Rudimental with James Arthur - Live Lounge
Rudimental are joined by James Arthur in the Live Lounge.
Rudimental recently announced during a Radio 1 Live Lounge that they would be back with a new album and a new tour in 2018, and we are READY for it.
While we don't know much about the record, their first full length since 2015's We The Generation, we have been told that their frequent collaborator turned soaring solo star Anne-Marie will definitely be playing a big part - and that, once again, Rudimental have been working with a new contingent of soon-to-be-huge talent.
"The same as before with Ella Eyre, John Newman, MNEK…they’ve all sort of started on Rudimental tracks and then they’ve gone on and done their own thing," the band's Kesi Dryden told us. "We’ve found some new talent and we’re working with them, bringing them on the road with us and stuff, and hopefully they’ll flourish and do their own thing soon as well."
6. Rita Ora

Rita Ora
We've been waiting since 2012 for Rita Ora to deliver the follow up to her debut album Ora. But long-running disputes with her former label, JAY-Z's Roc Nation, have now been settled - meaning she's almost (but not quite) ready to go!
She's had a string of hits in the past half decade, from I Will Never Let You Down to Body On Me, but things really got exciting earlier this year with the release of her Ed Sheeran co-write Your Song. We were led to expect an album this autumn, but it now sounds like its been pushed back to spring 2018. Still, good things come to those who wait though right?
"That's why I ventured out as a businesswoman," she told Metro. "I didn't want to stop working. Then when I had the opportunity to put out music again I thought, 'yay.'"
7. Bastille

Bastille - Radio 1's Big Weekend 2017 Highlights
We love these boys so much - a definite highlight from our huge Main Stage in Hull.
Scream! Electric indie pop kings Bastille have announced that their third album, the sequel to 2016's Wild World, is well under way and will be released early next year.
As is typical with Dan Smith and the rest of the guys, it sounds like there will be some experimental influences and unusual vibes to the record.
“We wanted to do something that feels a bit different, wanted to take it a step on from our last record and acknowledge that since we released that album the world seems an even more bizarre and tempestuous place," he told the NME, suggesting that the album would prove to be an, "apocalyptic party record." We can't wait to hear exactly how that sounds....
8. The 1975

Music For Cars, the more succinctly titled follow up to to The 1975's critically acclaimed and Mercury Prize nominated I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful yet So Unaware of It, will be out next year.
Frontman Matt Healy told Beats 1 that the Manchester group's third album marked the end point in a planned journey. "Music for Cars has always been called that, and we were always gonna do a trilogy of records," he said. "And I'm not saying that after this album it's the end of the 1975, but it's definitely the end of an era."
9. Muse

Muse - Dig Down
MistaJam’s Hottest Record In The World for Thursday 18th May 2017.
2015's Drones, the last album from Devon stadium rockers Muse, saw them dropping their flamboyant and electronic touches for a heavy rock concept album about the dehumanisation of modern warfare.
We're still waiting for more details about their eighth record, but we've been promised that it should hopefully be here in the second half of 2018.
After releasing single Dig Down earlier this year, frontman Matt Bellamy told Radio X: "Even though the overall album will be a long wait some of the songs are going to be available way ahead of that.” That's what we like to hear!
10. Avicii

Avicii - Mini Mix
Avicii provides an epic Mini Mix for B. Traits.
The Swedish superstar DJ and producer has collaborated with everyone from Coldplay to David Guetta, but decided to retire from touring in 2016.
In August 2017 he released a six-track EP called AVĪCI, which he told Radio 1's Pete Tong should make up a significant chunk of his forthcoming third album, the follow up to 2015's Stories.
Dance fans, brace yourselves...
