Stormzy covering Sweet Like Chocolate is the track you didn't know you needed in your life

He swung by the Radio 1 studios earlier this year to deliver us perfection in the form of Big For Your Boots and Kanye's Ultralight Beam (a must-see cover, BTW) and Stormzy is making a glorious return to the Live Lounge as part of our stellar line-up for Live Lounge Month.
Excited? Us too.
Performing two tracks from Gang Signs & Prayer, Blinded By Your Grace Pt.2 and Cigarettes, as well as covering Sweet Like Chocolate (yep, the 00's Shanks & Bigfoot dance number), it's safe to say that Stormzy blew the proverbial roof off the Live Lounge. Here's how it all went down...
Watch Stormzy perform Blinded By Your Grace Pt.2
Easing us into his three-track set with a soulful song, Stormzy explained the process behind why Blinded By Your Grace Pt.2 got given the Live Lounge treatment...
It's a song that means so much to me both in terms of my faith and also my artistryStormzy
"It's a song that means so much to me both in terms of my faith and what God means to me but also for my artistry as well. It's a song that me and Fraser [producer and songwriter] made up and we was trying to make something incredible for the album and it's a song I almost felt I wasn't capable of making but between me, Fraser and MNEK we pulled it off.
"It's a little bit of an anthem in the weirdest way. It's a little soulful, a little gospel. I've played it at festivals and everyone's hands are in the air like drunk and I don't know if it goes but it's working and it's beautiful and it's amazing. Everyone kinda comes together for it."
He brought Mabel McVey out for his second track...
So far, so awesome. Big Mike looks the vision of calm, doesn't he? Turns out that isn't always the case...
"This is maybe my 5th or 6th or 7th Live Lounge and it's still nerve-wracking. Every time I have a Live Lounge and I walk into this room I'm like 'oh my days!' - the nerves again! I just run around telling everybody in my team and they just calm me down. It's like me going to them for my reassurance, like 'guys, I ain't got this!' and they're like 'nah, Stormz, you got it.'"
For what it's worth: you got it, Stormz. Despite winning the hearts of quite literally everyone (true story, right?), the grime artist is still bowled over by his well-deserved success:
"I don't know how many times I've sat here and said the same thing about me still being gassed about everything that's happening but yeah. This don't usually happen for people where I'm from so I'm just taking it all in my stride. Even today, everything's that happening today."

6 times Stormzy proved that he isn't too big for his boots
Six pieces of definitive proof that Stormzy couldn't be keeping it more real...
And that feeling of disbelief apparently extends to big showbiz bashes, where Stormzy regularly finds himself running around in pursuit of a selfie with Ronan Keating...
"At them awards shows there's just so many sick people - you got Jamie Redknapp, Ronan Keating, the girl from Game of Thrones, Jaden Smith, Anthony Joshua - and for me it's like 'bruv, this is mad, you lot are all on my television, my mum listens to some of you, my sister loves some of you'. I just run around getting selfies."
Verdict: definitely not too big for his boots.
And he threw it back to the 00's with Sweet Like Chocolate
Hands up: who else is listening to this on repeat?! You know who else might be? Oh, only a certain someone by the name of JAY-Z!
Rumour has it that Shawn Corey Carter (yep, that's his real name) is a fervent fan of Stormz after being spotted side of the stage at V Festival. Performing infront of Jiggaman has to be more intimidating than the Live Lounge, surely?
"I didn't even know! I came off after and all the mandem were running around excited and I was thinking 'OK, something exciting happened' and then I heard Jigga was on the side of the stage.
"I'm so happy because he came during Big For Your Boots. So perfect as in you came and you saw BFYB and the crowd went off and everyone showed love so for him to witness that moment... I'm just kind of blessed. He is the GOAT."
