Harry Styles' first solo Live Lounge was everything we hoped it would be and more

Be still our beating hearts... for Harry Styles has just blown us all away in the Live Lounge.

With his band in tow, Harry lulled us into acoustic euphoria with dreamy renditions of Two Ghosts, Sign Of The Times and Fleetwood Mac's The Chain. To quote Mean Girls: it was AWESOME.

If you, like us, fancy re-watching the momentous occasion again over (and over and over and over and over and over...) again, here's your chance...

You okay, hun? Can you remember how it feels to have a heartbeat? We think ours went off the chart for a moment there...

Speaking to Clara about Two Ghosts, Hazza revealed that he had a pretty nonchalant approach to picking singles from his debut album: "I just really like the song and, yeah, I don't know. It felt like the next thing."

A fella of few words but WHAT A FELLA! Turns out he's got a fair few famous fans, too...

He made us swoon hard with Sign Of The Times

Just stop your crying! Stop it right this instant!

Dishing on how Sign Of The Times came to be the debut single from his eponymous album, Harry proved that he's nothing if not consistent when it comes to his laid-back approach:

"It wasn't gonna be the single for ages. I don't know why. I wanted to have it [on the album] and I wanted it to be full length [instead of a radio edit]. And then I was just being an idiot and I was like 'no, this is what I'm going to start with'. I liked it."

Seems as though everyone else liked it too, because it soared to No.1 pretty sharpish after its release.

But did Hazza feel alone without his former 1D bandmates?

Short answer: not totally.

"I mean I don't feel like I'm completely by myself because I'm with the band. It's fun. Live Lounge is fun - I've only done it once but I used to get the CDs all the time. I feel like Travis did one that was really good?"

Speaking to Grimmy earlier in the year, the owner of the world's most enviable head of hair revealed that going solo meant he found himself heavily invested in the decisions he'd never consider before, i.e. what font to use?!

"That’s when you feel like you’re adminning... and then you realise how particular you are about fonts. They send one font and you’re like 'well that’s not the right font!' And you didn’t think you were bothered about fonts."

Note to self: FONTS MATTER.

He finished things off in style with The Chain by Fleetwood Mac

In case you missed it, this year is all about celebrating Radio 1's 50th anniversary.

As well as serenading us with their latest single and a classic track, the megastars taking over the Live Lounge have been set the not-all-that-easy task of picking a song that they're mad about, courtesy of the last 50 years.

Naturally, self-confessed Stevie Nicks superfan, Styles, opted for a Fleetwood Mac number...

"[It's] a risky one. We're doing The Chain by Fleetwood Mac. I'm just such a massive fan of them as a band and of the music. I feel like everyone in the band sings and it kind of felt like something we could cover vocally so we should try it and then we really loved it. I think it's 1977 on The Grey Whistle [Test] - I think it was played on there first - so I'm glad it's within the [50 year] time."

(Not familiar with The Old Grey Whistle Test? It was a BBC2 music show that aired from '71 'til '88 - yup, Hazza is throwing it waaay back - and welcomed major acts like Bob Marley, Billy Joel and, of course, Fleetwood Mac. Now you know.)

And we learnt some new Harry Styles trivia along the way...

We're emotionally exhausted by this point - we're guessing you feel the same? - but we've still got a bit more room for some Harry Styles trivia, courtesy of his extensive chat with Clara.

First up: what does a famous face like Styles have stocked in his rider?

"Mine's pretty simple. Chewing gum, water and some tea. It's not very big. There's hand-sanitizer. Hummus. I have hummus. Don't mind which way [the hummus] swirls. I think I'm relatively low-maintenance."

Hummus and hand-sanitizer. Gotcha.

Second up: if he could play any villain in a movie, who would he play? "Maybe, like, Penguin in Batman." Directors, take note.

And, finally, what role would the dreamboat play in a rom-com? "OK so if we base it off When Harry Met Sally, I would maybe be the lady in the diner who says 'I'll have what she's having'..."

We've never felt closer to you, Harry.
