5 things Zac Efron revealed about Baywatch

Zac Efron popped into the Breakfast Show studio with his Baywatch co-star Alexandra Daddario, and we were so excited we thought we'd double dosed our coffee.

Apart from revealing that he listens to Radio 1 in his car (we can just imagine cruising down Sunset Boulevard...the wind ruffling Zac's hair...sigh) he explained all about what it's REALLY like to be a hunk in trunks.

So Zac's Granny and Grandpa went to watch Baywatch - and they were INTO IT.

"It’s not typicaly something I think I would invite them to but they loved it," said Zac. "They’re also rad. I mean my Grandpa’s my hero, he’s so cool, and did you see how dressed up they got? My Grandma's like, so happy. They’re unconditionally loving and proud and I just love you guys so much – I hope they hear this."

We hope so too. Plus, we now want to take our grandparents to watch Baywatch ASAP.

Pretty much every day, we ask ourselves..."what would Beyonce do?" (And then...generally do the opposite. We're not sure Beyonce finds the time to eat cereal in front of Eastenders, though we may be wrong.)

But in preparation for his role in Baywatch, which sees him dressing up as a woman for one key scene, Zac knew there was only one lady to look to for inspiration.

"Yeah, it takes endurance," he said, talking about learning the art of strutting. "First I looked at people on YouTube who are like, good at walking in heels."

We like to imagine Zac spent a lot of time practicing at home in a pair of stilettos but, apparently, this was not the case. Sad face.

"No, I just went for it on the day," he said. "It was a long day."

Now Zac may have famously enviable abs, but he's also known as one of the nicest and most genuine actors in Hollywood. Nevertheless, he enjoyed getting extra buff - and playing a bit of a vain pillock - in his new movie.

"The foundation of my whole character was to make fun of that idea of having a six pack," he said. "And I think it works …everybody’s making fun of me a lot."

Zac's physical transformation didn't just stop at a round of extra stomach crunches. The whole cast had the kind of regular spray tans which might put Strictly Come Dancing to shame. Alexandra even admitted that one hotel even accused her of peeing the bed (after the tan residue rubbed off on her sheets.)

But it sounds like Zac's tanning went to a deeper, more mahogany level than anyone else's...

"It legitimately was," he said. "I had my whole head bleached blonde, I wanted to be full out d-bag, as much as I could."

We reckon Zac's proud Mum will probably find her son's role funny...but then again, it sounds like she finds everything her son does hilarious.

"It’s funny because whenever I’m sitting next to my mum she just starts laughing," he said. "And it can be totally quiet, like, a romantic film and she just starts going ‘oohhhh gosh.’ Like – audibly laughing."
