ICYMI, the Katy Perry and Taylor Swift beef is still fresh

It has been five years since three dancers reportedly quit touring with Taylor Swift to go on the road with Katy Perry.
It was a move that sparked the greatest modern feud in pop music and half a decade later, the bad blood appears to still run fresh. Here's what's been happening.
The streaming thing

Katy Perry released her fourth studio album, Witness, on 9 June 2017 and it was available in all the usual places. The shops, online stores and, oh, the streaming services.
But, coincidentally, every Taylor Swift album appeared across streaming services at the same time. They had previously only appeared on Apple Music.
Here's what Nick Grimshaw and Radio 1's entertainment reporter had to say.

What's the latest with Katy Perry and Taylor Swift?
Taylor has put all her music on streaming services the day Katy releases her new album.
"Sips tea" indeed. This is Taylor's one and only move in 2017, FYI.

We all know about the Taylor and Katy feud. Or do we?
She started it and it's time for her to finish itKaty Perry
Despite it having run for five long years, neither star has spoken explicitly about the falling out. Until this year.
"She started it and it's time for her to finish it," said Katy when she appeared with James Corden on Carpool Karaoke.
"I tried to talk to her about it, and she wouldn't speak to me," she said. "I do the right thing any time it feels like a fumble. [I got] a full shutdown, and then she writes a song about me.
"That's how you want to deal with it? Karma."
Katy's song that might be about Taylor

Swish Swish bish, another one in the basket.
A lot of people think that Katy's current single is about Taylor Swift, but Katy says otherwise.
"I think it's a great anthem for people to use whenever somebody's trying to hold you down or bully you," she told US TV host Jimmy Fallon when he asked her if the song was about "anybody we know."
"Swish represents the liberation from all the negative that doesn't serve you," she said.

The Katy quotes that are definitely about Taylor

Carpool Karaoke may have opened the flood gates. Katy has since accused Taylor of 'character assassination.'
There are three sides of every story: one, two, and the truthKaty Perry
"I wish that I could turn the other cheek every single time, but I’m also not a pushover, you know?" She says in a new interview with NME.
"Especially when someone tries to assassinate my character with little girls. That’s so messed up!"
However, in the same chat she said that no one's story can really be trusted, not even hers.
"No one has asked me about my side of the story," she added.
"There are three sides of every story: one, two, and the truth."
Katy Perry's new album Witness is out now. Or, if you prefer, you can listen to Taylor Swift's old albums on the streaming service of your choice.
