6 major bands from the 00's we seriously wish would make a comeback

The phenomenon that was Love Island 2017 has provided plot twists aplenty: Cash Hughes - the inanimate doll named after his parent's penchant for nuts - has become a household name; Chris and Kem are apparently releasing a track with Stormzy (epic, right?); and Blazin' Squad are reuniting.

Yep, you read that right. Blazin' Squad are REUNITING!

Confirming the news via Instagram, Love Island contestant Marcel Somerville got the gang back together for a group shot against a brick wall (should've taken them to the crossroads, Marcel), captioning the photo: 'In the beginning there were 2 decks and a microphone, in the end the #blazinsquad stood alone. For the first time in 10 years all 10 of us in one place. #reunion'

If you want to watch musical history being made (forreal guys, this is BLAZIN' SQUAD we're talking about!), you'll find the fellas joining forces for a one-off reunion gig at Camden haunt, KOKO. And then, as if that wasn't enough excitement for you, you can look forward to Marcel making serious moves in the solo world.

"I have my own single on my own label coming out this week," the Love Islander told Good Morning Britain. "But I wanted to do something with the boys. There was a lot of love for us on the show and all the fans who supported me."

With all these old school bands flip reversing the script (see what we did there?), we're wondering what the chances are of our other favourite 90's and 00's bands following suit. From Destiny's Child to So Solid Crew, these are the groups we're hoping reunite...

They more than paid their bills, bills, bills while dominating the music world as Destiny's Child - and it's safe to say that the ladies of DC did pretty well as independent women - but we're desperate for Beyoncé, Kelly and Michelle to get the club jumpin' jumpin' with some new Destiny's Child goodness.

After blessing our lives with a surprise reunion at 2015's Stellar Gospel Music Awards (it. was. AWESOME.), Kelly dished to HuffPost about the possibility of the trio joining forces again: "There’s some beautiful things happening with us individually. So, we haven’t talked about it but when we do, we would definitely want to surprise people, which we’ve all said before."

The good news? An official Destiny's Child Instagram account was opened in late 2016, prompting rumours that the band were prepping for a comeback. Maybe a 20th anniversary reunion is on the horizon? Watch this space.

It's been six looooong years since The White Stripes - the duo comprising of ex-husband and wife, Jack and Meg White - announced that they were disbanding, and it's been 10 even longer years since they performed live together.

Insisting their split was on good terms, the twosome released a statement saying that they'd broken up for a 'myriad of reasons, but mostly to preserve what is beautiful and special about the band and have it stay that way'.

The chances of them reforming? Pretty unlikely, as it goes. Speaking to Rolling Stone in 2014, Jack White dished on his relationship with Meg: "I don't think anyone talks to Meg. She's always been a hermit," he said. "When we lived in Detroit, I'd have to drive over to her house if I wanted to talk to her, so now it's almost never."

Before you start wondering '3L-who?!', hit play on 'No More' and reintroduce yourself to the 00's wonder that was 3 Little Women (yup, that's what that stood for).

Consisting of Adrienne Bailon, Kiely Williams and Naturi Naughton, the girl group formed in 1999 and gave us a solid few years of absolute tunes ('Playas Gon' Play', anyone?!) before Naturi left the group in 2002, alleging that a food fight was the reason she finally decided to turn 3LW into 2LW:

"... Kiely and Adrienne are cursing me out, and before I know it, Kiely throws her plate of food all in my face," Naughton told MTV News way back when. "...Mashed potatoes, macaroni all in my hair, down my clothes, messing up my [hair]do!".

No hopes of a reunion, then?

Ever wondered what B2K stood for? Same. Turns out it stands for 'boys of the new millennium' - what with the band forming in the early aughts and all - and, as well as being in possession of a very literal band name, the foursome had pretty cool solo names...

Lil' Fizz, J-Boog, Raz-B and Omarion formed to make B2K in 1998 and parted ways in 2004. They toured with Bow Wow, collaborated with P. Diddy and starred in You Got Served before heading off in different directions. While we haven't heard much from Lil' Fizz, J-Boog and Raz-B, Omarion had success as a soloist. We can all agree that Ice Box was an absolute banger, right?

Together from: 1998 - who knows!

This reunion would be sliiiiightly trickier to orchestrate because it seems as though So Solid Crew never officially disbanded. Well where have you been, guys?!

Forever changing the way we measured time when they dropped '21 Seconds' in August 2001, the UK garage group scored a No.1 and scooped a Brit Award during their time at the top. Not bad, huh.

Once 19 members strong, So Solid now apparently boasts a crew of 30 (there's no way we're going to remember everyone's names) and - good news - are touring! The bad news? There's no '21 Seconds' follow up just yet. We're waiting, guys...

They came, they sang, they conquered and then they just... disappeared. What ever happened to City High (consisting of Ryan Toby, Robbie Pardlo and Claudette Ortiz)?! So. Many. Questions.

Here's what went down: Claudette and Robbie were high-school sweethearts and, having woo'ed him with their talents (Claudette's vocals, tho...), were signed to Wyclef Jean's label under the band name Wooga Booga. Along came Ryan Toby and Wooga Booga took the form of City High.

During their time together, the trio released 'What Would You Do?', 'Caramel' and 'City High Anthem', scoring a Grammy nomination in the process, before parting ways. Plot twist: Claudette and Robbie broke up and Claudette and Ryan later married!

Yeah, we're gonna guess that a reunion isn't on the horizon for this trio.
