London Grammar reveal why they admire Beyonce so much

London Grammar joined us in the Radio 1 Live Lounge this week for a spine-tingling performance of their new single Oh Woman Oh Man and a cover of Beyonce's All Night.
They're not the first band to cover Beyonce in the Live Lounge, but theirs was one of the most unique. You could hear a pin drop across the Radio 1 offices during the performance and usually it's just people yelling at each other.

Following the performance, the band spoke of their love for Beyonce and her "amazing voice" but front-woman Hannah Reid explained why Beyonce is such an important role model for women in music - and everywhere.
It's harder for women to be the boss of something without some people calling them difficult or worseHannah Reid
"I admire how hard she works and how she isn't afraid to be in charge and be the boss," she told Radio 1 online.
"The way that people respect her and how she basically has control over every single little detail of what she does, is really amazing.

Their original track, Oh Woman Oh Man, is taken from their second album, Truth Is A Beautiful Thing, and the band admits that the 'difficult second album' is a cliché, but it has proven true.

"It is really difficult. Making albums full stop is difficult," said Dan Rothman.
"We've begun to accept the cliché in a way because that's just part of a band's journey, making a 'difficult' second album."
He says the success of their debut album, If You Wait, contributed in part to any complications in recording their second.
"The challenges were different on this album, individually we'd all changed a lot and obviously what happened with the first one," says Dan.
"The success that came from it was an incredible experience for us all, but definitely challenged some of our relationships at home and that fed into the difficulties of making the second record."

But despite any hurdles in the road, Truth Is A Beautiful Thing is now headed for No.1, hopefully putting to rest any doubts the band may have had.
"We were worried they wouldn't want a first album," says Dot Major.
"You'll always worry they don't want a second."
