BBC Radio 2 and the BBC’s Concert Orchestra present War Horse: The Story In Concert

On Friday 18th May, in the centenary year marking the end of the First World War, the BBC Concert Orchestra performs ‘War Horse: The Story In Concert’ for a special radio recording.

With guest narrators Simon Callow and Juliet Stevenson, we tell the emotionally-charged story of Joey, the young farm horse who finds himself taken from the calm of the English countryside and thrust into the horrors of the Western Front’s battlefields.

This performance features Adrian Sutton’s acclaimed score, composed originally for the National Theatre’s production of Michael Morpurgo’s tale.

Also featuring the Hertfordshire Chorus and singer Tim Van Eyken, this special concert for BBC Radio 2 takes place at Coventry Cathedral and you could be in the audience to see it.

Please note that Joey won’t be joining us at Coventry Cathedral, however this event will feature the incredible musical score performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra.
