Here's what happened when Grimmy got Niall to fact check some rumours about himself

What happens when Niall Horan pays Grimmy a visit? A whole lot of myth-busting, that's what.

One Direction dominated the charts as one of the biggest bands on the planet, so it's hardly surprising that the internet is overflowing with rumours galore about our favourite guys.

When Niall swung by the Radio 1 studios to chat about his new single, On The Loose, Grimmy used the opportunity to put on his investigative journalism hat and grill him on a few of the 'facts' he's heard along the way. Here's what we learned...

Contrary to popular belief, To Kill a Mockingbird isn't the only book Niall has ever read. At least not anymore...

"It’s changed but up until three years ago it was the only book I’d ever read. It was for English [class] so I had to read it. To sound intellectual anytime I got asked in an interview if I’d read books before, I’d say ‘yeah, To Kill A Mockingbird’. [Since then] I’ve read a couple of sports biographies.”

What's the etiquette around superstars following superstars on social media? Is excitement uncool? Are you obliged to follow back? Do you act like it never happened?

Niall acted as our portal into the celebrity world and dispelled the chatter about how he responded to Bieber following him on Twitter. Did he, as was reported, scream? Negative. Listen to the clip and learn...

Speculation about Niall's socks is surprisingly rife. Yep, you read that right. When Grimmy stumbled upon a site which claimed that Niall wears white socks for luck, he felt it only right to get to the bottom of the matter.

“I used to wear white socks all the time, up until a few years ago, and then I got into crazy socks and now I’m addicted to them.

"My sock drawer is the most colourful looking thing ever. They’re usually quite extravagant but I used to be the white sock man.”

Has Niall ever actually washed his own socks? “Once or twice.” Oh, to be a popstar.

Niall released his debut album, Flicker, back in October 2017 and On The Loose is the second single off the album. The music video for the track features a very tanned Niall looking all kinds of contemplative in the desert, offset with clips of a woman clad in a denim jacket, dancing her way through the sandy terrain. Is there any kissing involved? Negative.

Grimmy quizzed Niall on how he felt about locking lips for music video purposes and it's safe to say we won't be seeing an onscreen kiss from the hitmaker anytime soon...

"I think I’d find it really awkward for some reason. I remember when we did the What Makes You Beautiful video and it was like ‘so, who’s gonna kiss the girl?’ and Harry was just like [‘me’]. That’s our Harry! I just think I’d find it weird because in the video it’s like five seconds but you shoot it about a billion times."
