5 reasons you should know about Armie Hammer if you don’t already
6 March 2018

If you're not familiar with Armie Hammer (real name: Armand Douglas Hammer), prepared to be schooled. The Hollywood star paid Grimmy a visit recently and, among other things, bestowed upon us an exceptional gift: a reading of Gemma Collins' autobiography (more on that later).
But, for now, let's get up to speed on all things Armie. Pull up a chair, class is in session...

He dropped out of school at 16 to pursue acting

Speaking to Vulture in 2017, Armie dished on dropping out of school to become an actor and realising that he had to put the work in...
I didn’t work at all until I got a call from my agent one day and she said she was gonna fire me. She said, ‘You’re my only client that doesn’t work. Why would I keep you?’Armie Hammer
"I’d go to an acting class now and then and do auditions, but did I do much work on it? Nah.
“I didn’t work at all until I got a call from my agent one day and she said she was gonna fire me. She said, ‘You’re my only client that doesn’t work. Why would I keep you?’ I was sort of confronted by the idea that I could lose what I wanted to do, and it shocked me. I got that taste of fear and failure for the first time, so I was like, ‘What do I have this week?’ She told me there were four auditions. I said, ‘Give me until the end of the week, and if nothing happens, then fire me.’
"I knew what I wanted to do and it was slipping away, so I buckled down in a really intense way and worked my ass off that week, and ended up booking all four jobs.”
Oh and he's very, very tall. (6 foot 4 inches, to be precise.)
He took a hot dog cannon to the Oscars
Not all superheroes wear capes.
He has a veeeery recognisable (and beloved) voice

Armie Hammer lends his "maple syrup" voice to a reading of Gemma Collins' autobiography
Grimmy challenges Armie to bring some depth and gravitas to Gemma Collins’ autobiography.
The sound that emits from Armie's mouth has been described as sounding like it's soaked in maple syrup and we're inclined to agree. Another of our favourite descriptions imagines the food equivalent of that euphonic sound...
"I suspect that Armie Hammer’s voice would smell like linguini, seasoned with Tasmanian pepper and lemon with Parmesan cheese on top. I’d need to speak with Armie Hammer in person to confirm this."
With that in mind, it seemed only natural that Grimmy asked Armie to read an extract of Gemma Collins' autobiography. And, not only that, but we think Grimmy might've bagged Armie as the lead in the film adaptation of GC's book. WATCH THIS SPACE.
