German Pop: In pictures
12 August 2015
The bold and brilliant pioneers who shaped Germany's 1960s pop art scene were celebrated in an exhibition at the Schirn Kunsthalle in Frankfurt from November 2014 - February 2015.
‘German Pop’ brought together 150 artworks and documentary materials from 34 artists. Joining the great Gerhard Richter and Sigmar Polke were Konrad Lueg, Manfred Kuttner, Lothar Fischer and a line-up of less familiar names.
In an era when eyes were focussed on Britain and America, West Germany was evolving its own unique brand of Pop Art. Here is our selection from the show.
