And so it's the day before the four days after...

Chris Evans | 14:05 UK time, Thursday, 28 June 2012

The Children In Need Drive and Dine tour begins at 6.30 am tomorrow morning. Well I say that, it actually begins at 3pm this afternoon when the radio team arrive at my house to start setting up. Tis an incredible effort by all concerned. I have to go to a meeting until four here in London otherwise we could start the party as soon as the got there - probably no bad thing. Treating them to a pizza and some pasta tonight at our local Italian - they're gonna need to carb up if last year was anything to go by.

Peace and Love

Tune into tomorrow from six thirty

We're live from my garage and then it's off to Hampshire !!!

Lovely sunny day here in Hampshire! Looking forward to 'welcoming you' to your favourite county!!! ;~) I am going to leave work early to drive out to the Chewton Glen in the hope of catching a glimpse of you, the cars and all those generous/lucky people!! You were simply IN YOUR ELEMENT this morning - you sounded sooo happy - despite the few sticky engine starts!!

Check your BlackBerry® wireless device though cuz message shouldn't take 24hrs to get onto the blog!! Feel free to invite me in for tea too - I will be driving my Mazda MX5! xXx

    Hello Chris.

You must be well on your way by now then, it must be so exciting, such a good atmosphere. I hope the weather's good down there, it doesn't know what to do up here. Rain, sun, rain, sun! I'm in and out of the front door trying to prune the shoots from the overgrown bush without getting wet!

    Please keep us updated!

PS Will there be a video?

Berni: thanks for the "heads up". The last thing I expected was a new blog today (meant for yesterday of course)! I hope you get to see the convoy.

    Ello CLP & ALL....

    Bingo Star 'ere again...

CLP - A most momentous thing that you are doing for charity!!!!!!!!! MOST momentous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A suppose rich people playing with rich people's toys will always be a somewhat contenshiousnessous issue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A would love ter be there, a feel pain that am noot rich enough ter be there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Feel pain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Noot that am trying te rbring the blog down with me pain!!!!!)

But 'aving said what ave just said..... The fact that through talent, 'ard work, 'elp from people and being in the right places at the right time..... AND also 'aving luck on yer side and using luck correctly and in a lucky fashion..... Yer 'ave risen through the ranks of radio and tv..... You are able ter enjoy your 'obby of enjoying the enjoyment of Ferrari's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A once owned what was often described as the poor man's Ferrari..... Aka the Lotus Esprit V8 twin turbo 3.5 0-60 4.5.... 175 top..... 30k it cost me at a time when me shares were doing most nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sadly now me shares are anything but nice!!!!! (again a don't wanter bring the blog down!!!)
So ave been there on a smaller scale, ave been there CLP and understand what it is like ter be a petrol 'ead who can afford a 'supercar'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The fact that yersen CLP.... Yer are most wealthy through the work yerv done in the world of showbizz..... That yer are able ter live your dream as a fork lift truck driver able ter buy, own and drive many exotic Ferrari's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A would do the same if a could..... It's better than being a rich miserable b***er who sits at 'ome only counting ones penny's and the blower ter the bank manger every 'alf an 'our ter chack yer balance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Know what am sayin' CLP????? The points am trying te r'it out 'er!!!!!!???

On top of this the fact that yer good enough ter share and ter a degree 'risk' parts of yer 'obby and get some rich people ter stump up VERY large amounts of cash all for a VERY 'ounorable children's charity....... Am most FULLY with you and in support of The Drivetime Drive And Dine Tour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GOOD LUCK and a 'ope yer carry on doing the same every year ;-))))))))))))))

  • Comment number 6.

MagicBusDriver - Am most 'appy yer taking the fact that a think Rips is right and yersen are wrong about cars being works of art in good stead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sometimes it can be good ter admit yer wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A did it only yesterdee when a could connect me toilet ter me soil pipe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A stretched the rubber ring that's connected te rthe back of me pan (toilet pan noot kitchen!!!!) And then inserted the end of the plastic fitting inter me 100mm soil pipe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Then a tried ter stretch the other rubber ring over both pipes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But would it go over..... NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2 dees a tried..... Then something told me am a wrong about what a though was right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????
A thought is it good ter think am wrong about whatta thought was right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A later found out a was right ter think a was wrong after a went ter see the plumber at B&Q..... For advice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

'e told me that the second rubber ring doesn't stretched over both pipes.... But it stays on the one, aka the smaller end of the plastic fitting and then slides inter me 100mm soil pipe and seals it that way....

So this a fine example of when it's good ter be right about being
    wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As for are the Purley Gates on the A23!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only if yer drive in an unsafe manner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    'ope this 'elps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi Chris,
This is such a wonderful way to raise a lot of money for charity, and great fun for all those who generously bid. I really enjoyed seeing all the fabulous Ferraris at Rendcomb today, and please tell the driver who was wearing a white shirt and jeans - we all saw him having a pee against the wall. ;-)
Keep up the good work. C. x

  • Comment number 8.

Soz a mean't "couldn't connect me soil pipe" noot "could"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Although a can know, sorry now!!!!!!!

  • Comment number 9.

Rainbow - WOW nice you were able ter go and see the cars drive past!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wish a was down south ter go for a look!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I'll never forgeet seeing CLP a few years ago at the Wentworth PGA Golf Championship drive past me in 'is Ferrari ENZO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First time i'd ever seen one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As for the bloke 'aving a pee..... Looks like even if yerv gotta lotta money..... It doesn't stop imcompetence problems!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm curious about Bingo - What accent is it supposed to be? The posts are very difficult to read. I'm sure they are very interesting, but I usually give up.

  • Comment number 11.

Warmth ter yersen Mona Lott - Am from The Wirral aka the same place as Paul O'Grady..... So try and imagine posh scouse (Wirral).... With abitta Cheshire and a little bit of Lancashire too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Basically me blogs are written in 'demented posh scouse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'

Try listening VERy carefully ter Paul O'grady and yer will 'ear the ayches are not present.... 'e says me instead of I...... But I say A alot of the time instead of me and I.... As 'a' is more demtented than 'me' or 'I'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then throw in abitta strong scouse like The Bishop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (A don't mean the bishop of Liverpool.... although the bishop of Liverpool 'e is from 'ull.... Same as 'ells Bells aka CLP's recent boss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
A mean John Bishop..... For example..... If 'e said For example.... It would be FoRR exAMpel..... At least a don't do me blogs in FULL scouse or it would look like FoRR exAMpel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For example Paul O'Grady says rugby as "rugbeee".... That's Wirral scouse!!!!!!!!!
John Bishop would say "rlugbee".... That's strong Liverpool scouse!!!!!!!!!!!

A say day as "dee"..... Which is 'alf way between strong scouse and Wirral scouse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    'ope this 'elps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Feel free ter watch the clip above and look 'n learn from The Birken'ead master of comedeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just looked at the photos from Chris's house this morning. Looked like everyone was having a ball

And (don't laugh at me Rips) don't the cars all look different this year? I think it's because the first year they were all white and now they are all different colours so that makes it look like they are all different types!

I can read Bingo posts!! But only by doing that thing where you don read each word, you sort of lookover them and your brain works it out for you!

Anyone who sees the cars, give'em a wave from me

Just a couple of points in reply to the posh scouse correspondent.

I did not say I was wrong in regards to a Ferrari being a piece of art. What I said was that I can appreciate it as a classic piece of design and engineering and indeed as a thing of beauty, but I do not think it is art.

Secondly I was not bashing the rich. If people have lots of money, good luck to them.

As long as they pay their taxes I don't care how they spend it.

What I don't like is ostentatious charity giving.

    100% my own personal opinions.

    Hope this helps

I am pretty much unmoved by cars, except I like cars with quirks;for instance I had a Cavaliar which used to flash its lights madly when I left it alone for a while, this was always a talking point. I know it was an electrical fault, but it made it seem human.

I'm also fond of my current cheeky little red Citroen C3 Desire, which has a matching Sunderland strip on the rear window. I knew it was the one for me after I picked up the registration documents and discovered it was first registered on my birthday! Thankfully not the same year.

Posh, obscenely expensive cars which can go at a speed that will never be necessary or legal definitely hold no interest for me, although I obviously can appreciate the enormous engineering skills behind them. The human brain is probably the most mind blowing, inexplicably bewildering and miraculous phenomenon ever.

What brought this home recently was watching the recent series of Springwatch, where Chris Packham, although he might not suit everyone's palate, excelled himself, although this isn't what I'm referring to; it was the unbelievable technology that experts have developed in order to discover more about the world around us - cameras which can film in the dark, cameras which can magnify etc. I think this is the fusion of everything that is good about our world. And, to paraphrase Socrates, the more we discover, the more we know just how little we know.

Nature is awesome, and so is the human brain when put to its best uses. Which don't include building weapons, making money or, dare I say it, designing gas guzzling cars which contribute to the damage we all inflict to some extent on our fragile planet.

You've been talking about art v engineering and someone mentioned Leonardo da Vinci. I was lucky enough to visit the exhibition at the National Gallery in December. Pure genius.

I know this is a bit serious for me but I'm finished my reports (hurrah) and I'm bored with football.

Johnny Nash expressed a very similar sentiment to Socrates, albeit with a reggae beat.

Also, to paraphrase Samuel Johnson, when a woman is tired of football she is tired of life.

Ps have you read the new Hilary Mantel book yet as I am guessing from your name that it would be right up your street.

Aawwww, so disappointed! Got to Chewton Glen just before 5pm and heard that Chris was still at Longleat/they were running 2hrs late. Told to return at 7pm so we did - and they had all arrived already - tsch. Soooo disappointed! Tempted to try again in the morning to see if I could catch them leave but . . . . nah, probably won’t. :~( I understand the gas guzzling/carbon footprint argument and petrol is flipping expensive anyway!! Good morning all,

Well Chris , I must say that you had fantastic weather yesterday for your jolly jaunt down to the new forest as it was hot ,hot. Not so this morning ,it's back to the clouds and it's a bit on the chilly side.

Have to be out of the house earlier today as I have an appointment before work ,so I'd better be off and get myself organized.

Just heard Noah ,bless him .Right must go ,so enjoy your day all,and them that aren't going to be around over the w/end ,have a good one .

    Take care ..Bids.xxx.

It did sound like they were having fun at Chewton Glan but also like they had a bit of a challenge with the timings! Dinner at 10pm! Bet the chef was happy!

Noah was lovely as usual. Chris needs to watch out - I think he has competition there!

Can I just clarify, I love listening to a Bingo-stylee accent but reading it makes my brain work hard and that's a challenge for me!

I often look at the pics of the four of us in The Cavern (a real dream come true for me!), and the trip you took us on across the Mersea with your tales of your lovely mum - had she been blogging back then, she could've joined us!

    Happy days indeed.

I also often think fondly of 23rd December 2009: as Nic and I ascended the escalator heading towards the 02, you were the first person we saw - dressed as Elvis! I remember saying to Nic "meet Bingo" .... who else!?!?

    Afternoon everyone

sorry for my absence I have been up to me likkle eyeballs with work and allsorts but have been listening the show and Chris and the gang along with the magnificent seven sound like they are having a bloomin marvellous time. Oh and Noah how cute is he...... made me smile this morning and there are some nice pictures of daddy and son on the bonnet of one of them red motors in the Daily Snail.

Wow weather yesterday crikey flooded alot of the areas around here and just up the road. And the torch is passing through this Wolvo this weekend although I am bit fed up with the celebrities holding the ruddy things they arent even from the area, ones from Kent and ones from Burnley, would have preferred Denise Lewis or even Noddy Holder quite frankly.

Loads going on had a lodger this week but the good news is that theyare moving into the house 3 doors up this weekend it was perfect for them and the landlord has been an absolute star to get them in and sorted so after a trip to the barnet trimmers tomorrow morning I shall be assisting in box lumping and lifting for a bit. Have told them to take it easy and not try to get everything sorted too quickly as they can stay at ours still the basics are in and sorted.

Well off to get stuff done so I can have a poets afternoon. Oh and word of warning I think there may be a Madeley alert for the next two weeks, back to my spanish CD I think or the Ipod on the way to work in the mornings.

Have a lovely (lets hope dry) weekend bloggers and bloggettes.

Conversation: 'I'd like to make an appointment please for the cat's booster'.
Receptionist 'I can fit you in at 11.30 with Tom'.
    Me 'Yes, it is Tom'.
Receptionist 'It says here Tom 11, is that right?'
ME 'Yes, we had a Tom previously, this is Tom 11'
Receptionist 'I thought it might be Tom 111 now'
Me 'No, it's still Tom 11'

So Tom 11 now has an appointment with Tom the vet!

CB - we're off to Walsall tomorrow to see the Limpik Torch thingy. I would've preferred Lichfield but it's silly o'clock there and we'll still be waking up and thinking of bacon sarnies!

It's Randall's first Puppy School this afternoon, which will be fine once we get there. My problem, however, is getting The Rascal into the car and shutting the hatch down. With two of us it's a cinch - one to hold the lead from the back seat and one to close the boot. On my own - a nightmare!!! I may well have to enlist the helping hands of one of our neighbours .......

I hope Randall the Rascal get's on OK with his puppy training class (and you too) Good luck! My dog used to love getting into my ex's car but he didn't like it. I used to 'accidentally leave the car door open outside the house and quick as a flash in she'd get. He finally came around to our way!.

Pen-I've mentioned this before, I used to love Richard & Judy together on This Morning but I don't like him as a deejay.

Deevs good luck with the Rascalls classes make sure he takes an apple for the teacher want to start off on the right foot you see.

Good luck getting him in the car.

I wont be going to see the lympic torch as I have way too much to do tomorrow and not enough time in the weekend if it was during the week I would have done but the weekends arent long enough at the moment for me.

I am glad it is Ryan not Richard, I have nothing really against Mr Madeley apart from he just makes me cringe sometimes, have heard Mr Tubridy before think he covered Graham for a bit last year and the amount of giggles Bobby had with him about his name. Spanish CD may stay in the glove box on Monday morning then.

    Thanks

She was undoubtedly both and I could discuss is for hours but I won't! Nevertheless she was witty, funny and very clever, she was abominably exploited by the men in her family and she didn't deserve to have her head sliced off - but then - who did? We may moan about our justice system but we've come a long way since then.

Yes I have read Heartstone and coincidently am currently rereading Dissolution. But I do also read read books which have nothing to do with Tudors.

At Hampton Court, if you trail around the many portrait galleries, you will see one of "Anne of Sunderland". I have a photo of myself directly underneath it imitating her pose, as I was also, originally, Anne of Sunderland.

I don't pretend to know as much as you two but I love Hampton Court, there's such an atmosphere you feel you're back there in Tudor times. Some people today criticise the royal family but thank goodness they don't behave like Henry V111.

Also a large number of today's politicians would have been taken through Traitor's Gate at the tower to have their heads chopped off. Today they get away with their misdeanours and then being the true hypocrites they are behave all self righteous and have the nerve to target other folks who do lesser crimes (Jimmy Carr, etc.)

    Orf with their heads:)

Just popping in - nothing really to report from ChezS - it's all work, work work at the moment.

Well, I say that, but I have managed to set aside some time for watching Wimbledon when I get home. Good grief, what about Lukas Rosol the other night? I have never seen tennis like it - not even in the glory days of Borg, Connors and McEnroe - just incredible stuff. It will be very interesting to see what happens today - if he is for real, then tennis is entering a whole new phase. Though I will say this: if Lukas is having a wee lurk, before he heads out on court: Lukie - stop spitting!

Apologies to all not interested in tennis!

CB: good news about your friends getting somewhere to live. They will be delighted, I am sure, though you and Mr CB have been great having them to stay with you until they could get organised.

Maddy: I did love the conversation with the vet's receptionist!

I know that we all have fond memories of those long hot summers when we were kids but surely this must be the worst summer ever.

How many divorces are going to come about over turning on the central heating in July?

Let's hope that July is going to change it all and the summer is coming MBD. Am I an optimistic fool?

Late checking in today or should I say an early morning post. Not been able to post earlier as they wouldn't except my long standing blog name ,and not going to change it so gave up for a while .but hey I'm back.

Had a very laid back relaxing day here after my busy day yesterday ,didn't leave work until six, then went on to do the weekly shop and then it was home to start the dinner, and by the time dinner was done and dusted ,it was ten o clock ,not much time to do anything than collapse in a heap on the sofa, hence the lazy day today.

Well Chris ,it looks like your Drive and Dine do has gone off without a hitch and you had good weather in the end ,looking forward to the next installment .

That brings me to ask all the people north of the border if they are all safe ,I couldn't believe the weather forecast when i saw it .as though you haven't had enough ,apparently it's the only second only wettest June on record ,and our first in our life time ,and we don't want another do we ?

And as I've just noticed ,thanks Maddy it's July , now so that means we are more than half way through the year already ,so what have all of you got planned ,I know some of you have holibobs ,but what have the rest of you got planned .

I might be getting a visit from our lovely fairy soon as I think that shes flying around and about again ,so here's hoping for a better catch up this time ,just might have to clip her wings some when ,that's if she can stay in one place long enough .

not forgotten about my top ten places to visit in the Cotswold's ,so if anyone is still interested I'll bang them on tomorrow maybe, don't want to bore you all.

And Bingo ,yes love your posts and yes I do understand them ,have to re read them slowly but get there in the end .and yes love your accent listened to you at the O2.

Well I suppose I'd better shut this puter off ,kens gone to bed ,I'm sitting here just musing but unwinding nicely and enjoying the quiet for ten minutes ,I like this time of night when all around is calm and peaceful ,so on this note I'll quietly bid you all a very good night and see you in a while .

    Take care ..Bids.xxx

    Hello Bids.

    You threw me there LOL!

Lovely to 'see' you and you most certainly did deserve a relaxing day after such a busy one yesterday.

Chris has written more about the Drive & Dine in his Daily Mail live mag column. That and other subjects too, all very entertaining.

Looking forward to more posts re the Cotswolds, I felt as though I was there reading them, it's one place I've never been to.

We're lucky with the weather here on the Wirral really, wse don't seem to get the extremes quite as much as either further north or further south.

I was going to say more but I've now forgotten, my brain must be getting tired so time for bed I think.

Morning all. Question for you put to me by a friend yesterday....he believes that Mr Evans 'spray-paints/re-sprays’ (?!?) all his fabulous cars WHITE....or he used to....is that true?? Anyone know where he might have got that from??

    Monring all

Berni, Your friend is right! MR E did used to paint all his cars white but I don't think he does anymore

Long and busy few days for us.

Meeting about Scout trip to Scotland on Friday night.. Sure sounds like Boy2 is going to have a good time but that he might be getting abit wet - whether from the rain, the activites or both, eho knows!

Boys out all day yesterday and we went to a Open Air Music thing in the Park so I seemed to spend all day baking so we could take a "simple" picnic!

The bands were really good. One acousitc duo, one Up and coming punk/indie band (we were surprised how much we enjoyed them) A young Two-Tone Ska group and the Essex Blues Brothers!

    Certainly something for everyone!

A quiet day today I think! Well, I hope!!!

Mamma Mia here I go again my my! It's on ITV2 again tonight, this is a bit soon after only four days. I think I might watch again though as it makes me feel happy so why not.

Berni-I saw Chris's garage with the white Ferraris when James May was talking to him on Top Gear, there's a link but of the whole episode.

    Hello,

Afternoon already ,and all I've done is mess around but hey !! isn't that what Sundays are all about. I must say i'm feeling more alive today and am getting that spring back into my step.

Right as promised, part two of villages,

Last week I forgot to mention Stow-on-the-Wold. this is also a nice place to have a meander around as it dates back to the 16th cetury like most of the villages do ,and when you take a look at how all the building were errected and are all built by hand and hard labour (no machines ) in those days ,you really do have to admire how beautiful it all is.

Stow has a square ,but not square in shape but everything seems to go off the square and is a bit of an odd shape but worth a visit .
It's got a fantastic kitchen shop ,that you can buy most anything that comes to mind and more ,also opposite that is a lovely shop that sells lots of nice gifts .there is a little bit of an arcade with about 4 or 5 shops in ,but if you go right to the far end you can come across a lovely little tea room ,we foud it last time there ,worth popping in ,and dietry needs are catered for, there is also a lovely church there .

    Moton-in-Marsh .

Now this insn't like the rest of the villages ,more of what I would say a locals village or farming village as it has the main road running through it were as the others dont ,but never the less worth a stroll,it has a lovely market there on a Tuesday and there are coaches that visit on that day from all around. Itb also has a Caravan Park on it's door step ,just five minutes walk away.

Now these I think are the main villages, but there are so many places that are a must to visit I think and not to miss ,so I'll just do a list and then if you fancy a look at any of them they are all on google.

    My list...apart from those I've mentioned .

    Stanton.
    Snows Hill.
    Chipping Campden .
    Broad Campden.
    Burford.
    Blockley.
    The slaughters.

And many more just turn off the main routes and you'll be suprised what you find .And Dont forget you have to the west Cheltenham ,and Gloucester ,nice Cathederal there .to the south you have Cirencester ,very old town ,and I'd forgot about Prince Charles's neck of the woods thats also to the south west and they are the towns of Tetbury and Malmesbury.
And last but not least to your east ,all this looking at your maps is Woodstock and Blenheim Palace and the wonderful university city of Oxford with its beautiful spires.

    Evening all

It's been a bright and breezy day here today, the ironing pile has been conquered - for now - and I've joined Maddy in a Mama Mia Moment. Well, it's one way of clearing the room of boys!

MBD & BG, Coo it's years since I went to Hampton Court. I had a bit of a phase of reading tudor history last year and really enjoyed it. There were certainly a lot of people plotting and planning weren't there!

Maybe Hampton Court needs to go on the ever-growing list of places I want to go. At the moment, Greenwich quite near the top. I want to go and see the Cutty Sark re-stored and the Maritime Museum. I'll get there sometime!

Annie and Bids, Mr Sezza informs me it must be about 20 years since we went to the Cotswolds!!

Another place for the list I think!

    Hiya:

An unusual wee look-in for me, of a Sunday evening.

Maddy: we watched Mamma Mia tonight - what an incredible treat - I know I loved it before, but had quite forgotten how fabulous it is. MrS was very understanding - I was in bits from "Slipping Through My Fingers" until the end - oh, I love a good weep!

Bids: I really do hope that some day I will get to visit the Cotswolds - what a beautiful picture you have painted of the area. I did stop off at Stratford Upon Avon many years ago after a trip to see Sir Cliff Richard ... so many concerts, can't remember which one! ... and I know it was absolutely beautiful. This is on the "to do" list.

Off to watch the end of the footie, and then it will be Monday morning, all of a sudden.

Take care, see you on the morrow.

    Morning:

Very mixed bag of weather here on the border all weekend and continuing today. It really hurled it down before. Guess who parked the car miles way and left her jacket and umbrella in the car?

Mr PJ enjoyed his fishing break in Herefordshire. Usually had good weather in the past but not so this year. When is summer going to start?

Sezza: Your thermal socks are under your pillow - if you're anything like me. Can't get to sleep with cold feet.

    Regards PJ

  • Comment number 86.

    Hi all,

Cold feet ,can't be doing with cold feet and can't go to sleep if I have them, so yes I have bed socks and then chuck them of when my feet are warm.

Debs ,glad you enjoyed your day ,when I saw your pic ,I must say I was a tad jealous ;-)) Have a good week and don't work too hard.

PJ,it's aways the same isn't it when you park the car and leave your wet weather gear in it you seem to get half way away and then you need them .I hope the weather improves for you .

As it's dire down here on the south coast ,it's rained all night and still going ,and on looking at the 5day weather forecast ,we might just get a dry spell on Wednesday afternoon, must remember to take my shades to work with and dash outside to see if I can spot that yellow spot in the sky that our Sezza is looking for .

Sezza as you see above we not seem to have it here ,so if you do manage to spot it some time soon ,send a bit my way .

Maddy thanks for the tip on Chris's column, good reading I must say and funny ..Have you got the Sun ???

Right must be off ,have to pop out on an errand and then must fill the car with petrol or else I'll be pedaling to work tomorrow..

See you later ,Take care ..Bids..xxx.

    Hiya:

Good grief, the rain in unbelievable, isn't it?! How I feel for everyone being flooded - time after time - it must be a nightmare for them.

I must confess, I am in the "bed socks" club, too. I cannot sleep, not in a million years, if I have cold feet. And, I well remember the good old days when I had an electric blanket - before marrying MrS. Ooooh, I loved it! However, when embarking on the journey of life together, he couldn't begin to understand having an electric blanket, so I waved goodbye to it. Do I still resent that, a little? You better believe it!

Nothing much to report - hope all is well in the land of bloggers ... I think it's going to be a VERY long two weeks until Chris returns!

    Hello.

Where is the summer? It's now July for goodness sake!

Sezza & Chrissie-Mamma Mia is a wonderful film isn't it. I taped it as I wanted to watch later so can now watch again whenever I like. Am I turning into a Mamma Mia addict?

Bids-did you mean have I got the Sun in the sky or the Sun newspaper? Neither! It's been raining all day and all last night here. As for the newspapers I sometimes have a glance at the Sun online and the Mirror but my daily online read is the Daily Mail. That's not because I agree with their whatsit or anything political, in fact I don't really know why I choose the mail.

Re the cold feet, I don't have bedsocks but for the last fedw nights my feet have been cold when the rest of me is warm so I'm thinking about getting some.

    Evening all,

Just popping in to say hi.
We have "lighter showers" to look forward to later in the week, Oh Joy, as if we need any showers at all, ever again. Am truly tired of feeling wintery . I did buy a summer dress in the sales on Saturday. It was a lovely bargain, and I am now hoping my thermal tights, knee boots and scarf don't spoil the effect when I eventually get to wear it.

Right , off to bed , to listen to the rain on the windows !

    Morning all,

Bit late, but what I heard of the show was fabulous, I loved hearing the car engines starting, and it just sounded like you would all have a great time.

We had a lovely weekend, the Game Fair was cancelled due to the weather which was a disappointment but apparantly it was water logged and the car park was just a field of mud, so we just went walking instead and the weather was lovely all day Saturday and Sunday morning, then it rained on Sunday afternoon and goodness knows when it will stop! In Dunkeld we even found a couple of lovely pubs who allowed dogs so that was great for our meals out, apart from Saturday night when we had a couple of sirloin steaks on the barbie - yum.

Unfortunately, it's back to normality today.

I haven't had a catch up yet so I hope eveyrone is ok and had a good weekend.

    Have a great day.

Grey and overcast here so who knows what it will be like today?

Nothing to report either really. We were up visiting home on Sunday and all my family are fine after the floods. We drove on many of the roads that had been under 3/4/5 feet of water which was surreal.

    Have a lovely day everyone.
