In Session

In Session
Toby Parker used to be in a band called The Myth, who used to be a resident band at Andrew Marston's band nights - before he started presenting this show.

When BBC Introducing began - back then as the Friday Session - The Myth made it through to the finals of the BBC Midlands Today School Of Rock competition - and the prize was to have professional recording made in a studio and a video shot by those who work in television.

The Golden Valley musician can nowadays be found on the streets as a professional busker.

He also played on Wednesday at the Jailhouse as part of the Hereford Live launch night.

Malvern Rocks

Malvern Rocks

Taking place across many pubs, hotels and clubs in Malvern, this new music festival put the rich, diverse pool of musical talent in and around Malvern to work for a great local cause: Acorns Children's Hospice.

Three days of free music included pop to punk, folk to metal - in a similar format to that of the Worcester Music Festival.

This year TV star and celebrity chef Loyd Grossman headlined the event with his new band!

Hereford Live

Hereford Live
Since 2007, BBC Introducing has brought together all of the BBC's supporters of unsigned, undiscovered and under-the-radar music in the UK.

Of course, we existed before that in various other forms.

We began life in June 2005 as The Friday Session - but you know what - people up in Scotland had never heard of us! Nor did people in Ledbury, Malvern or Kidderminster know what programmes like The Beat, The Download or even The Gerbil were.

So the BBC grouped us all together, called us Introducing - and now, it seems, everyone knows what we're about.

Well, a group of music lovers in Hereford are trying something similar - by gluing together all of the gigs taking place in the city - and they're calling it Hereford Live.

To celebrate, they're arranging a series of gigs and have set up their own website.

Hullabaloo, meaning 'uproar' or 'fuss', have been causing just that on the Welsh music scene, despite coming from Worcestershire!

Their debut EP 'Landslide' was released to critical acclaim.

The five piece band fuse together pop, indie, soul and rock 'n' roll by throwing together guitar, piano, bass, brass and drums to create music which sticks in your head, causes a commotion and gets you dancing!

Well, they've been the focus of one of the first new films by Ralph Tittley - the man behind the Worcestershire internet channel - Slap TV.

Live In Hyde Park: Festival In A Day

Live In Hyde Park: Festival In A Day
Every year you'll find us at many of the biggest and best music festivals across the country featuring a wide variety of new music and for the very first time BBC Introducing headed to Radio 2's Live In Hyde Park: Festival In A Day.

Chosen by us was Leominster's George Barnett - who we last featured on stage at the Wychwood Festival.

Through BBC Introducing, thousands of unsigned artists and musicians have been given access to a bigger audience on air, online and on the TV.

Without a doubt, if you're an unsigned artist, BBC Introducing is the place to get your best music heard by the BBC...and who knows what opportunities could be around the corner.
