Hey pussycat dolls and boys of The Blog.

Chris Evans | 13:48 UK time, Wednesday, 13 June 2012

Hope you are well today.

Currently trying to find out whether I am in a go hose or no hose part of the UK. I have a couple of motor cars that would die for a short sharp shower and some car shampoo.

Tomorrow we are declaring the show a herb garden special. To herb or not to herb, that is the question - and what in?

Contain the mint whatever you do, otherwise it will have you evicted from your own home within weeks. An old tin bath rocks, as do old leaky rowing boats pleading for a reincarnation - anything but the tip, or even worse a watery grave.

So that's where we are. And that's where we're going.

I'm so glad we cancelled today's charity golf day on Monsoon Monday!!! It's cracking the flags here today. I give up.

Lol

Moi

Aka Evans Christopher.

Peace and Love and all things good.

Ohhh what a thrill to be No. 1!!! LOL Lovely to hear from you, Evans Christopher. I have a friend called Mary who has to shout 'BASIL' Fawlty Towers style if anyone says 'basil' so tomorrow's show will be interesting in her house!!! LOL!! And I will be fascinated to learn if ANYONE can grow coriander successfully in this country!! I have to drink soooo much Pimms to use up all the mint I have!!! x

    Hello Chris & Everyone.

If you are in a no hose area Chris you could ask two people to drive your cars to a go hose area to shampoo them for you, I'm sure there would be plenty of offers.

I must grow some herbs! When I moved into my very first home many moons ago the back garden was overgrown but in one corner was some mint. In another corner corner was rhubarb. So plenty of lamb dinners and rhubarb crumble was eaten.

D'oh! to cancelling the charity golf. How can we make plans with the changeable weather.

Afternoon one and all, still madly busy.

I have a herb garden, it has mint, apple mint, chives garlic and normal chive, just put some greek basil in this week with a new bit of parsley and marjoram, normal sage and purple sage. The coriander is on the window sill in the kitchen and I love nipping out and cutting what I need, in fact a couple of glasses of pimms were consumed this weekend with apple mint from my garden. Yum Yum.

Off to the allotment for some weeding tonight after I have done my neighbours shopping for her.

Had a right ding dong this morning waiting patiently behind a car at the petrol station and some big bloke in a big car pushes in front of me, well I wasnt having it this morning and I told him so. When he got out of the car his big beer gut hanging over his trousers and showing his bottom cleavage I just lost it. I cant stand people who have no patience and think they can push in and shout you down so I shouted at him and told him exactly what I thought (with a couple of explicit words I am afraid). He did move to another pump as he knew he was wrong but he wanted to carry it on, so I actually told him to pull his trousers up get back in his car and drive off and get out of my face as no one was listening. I will not be bullied grrrr! felt better afterward though. hee hee hee!

When I was talking to the petrol attendant she told me he does it all the time and it was about time someone stood up to him as he thought he could intimediate people. One under the belt for the little people I think.

Cockney (dont mess with me) bird! laters xx

    Just a quickie!

Thanks for all your kind words, but have to report I've had a relapse and have now taken to my bed and am tucked up under the duvet. Will be back as soon as xx

Chris I will report on your post, and others, tomorrow, hopefully.

Hi Evans Christopher: what a really lovely name! Chris, the show was fantastic this morning - what are you doing to me - What a Wonderful World, and then Que Sera, Sera. Just loving all of it. xx I would love to be a Pussycat Doll - even for just one day!

Herb garden: full of admiration for anyone who can do this. I have trouble keeping the flowers from M&* topped-up in my vase!

Sezza: hope your house is a little warmer now!

MC: nice to see your Maltesers are doing the job.

AliB: yes, most unlike you to be "ratty" but no wonder, you have been soaked to within an inch of your life!

CB: very well done - not easy to stand up to bullies, so hats off to you.

Pen: ooooh, that is not good. Take care, plenty of fluids, and stay as warm as possible. Let us know how you are doing. xx

Have a nice evening one and all.

    Chris

My heart bleeds for you, it must be awful to have a garage full of grubby Ferraris!

  • Comment number 8.

CB-good for you and telling him to pull his trousers up LOL! (but of course we have to be careful as there are some nutters on the roads)

Pen-It sounds like gastric flu, I hope you're soon better and keep warm.

Chrissie-I don't know about a Pussycat Doll but I used to think Living Doll was all about me many moons ago lol. How times have changed and nobody would lock me up in a trunk not even Cliff ha ha! Those words would not go down well today. Ialso love Wonderful World and Que Sera Sera.

MBD-What car do you drive (apart from the magic bus)? I think we all get used to what we drive no matter what it is. Someone can feel unhappy in a posh car and happy and contented in an old banger dependin g on what else is going on in their lives. But wouldn't most of us drive a posh car if we could?

    Afternoon each from sunny Fife

Chris, go and do my car as well - it sorely needs it. Herb garden sounds wonderful. I grow mine on the kitchen windowsill and love them.

Olympic torch went through Dunfermline this afternoon - 12yr old and 9yr old went to see it with their mum and youngest son took the 7yr old to see it go through Broxburn. Then some daft person cycled over the Bridge with it. Hope Rosie has got a seat in Edinburgh Castle to see it.

    CB, good for you.

Pen, hope you're feeling better very soon, poor you.

    Back in a bit. xxxx

  • Comment number 10.

Hiya Annie, just seen your comment. I wasn't at the castle, couldn't get a ticket, but i saw the torch come up George IV Bridge, and had my photo taken with an Olympic torch!

Another wee moment in history, and I can say that I was there!

Excellent Rosie. Our 9yr old videoed it going through Dunfermline, then accidently deleted it. He was distraught.

Afternoon and good evening from another warm and sunny day in update NY. For those that asked, sunny care packages on the way to you!! Lol not much new here. Daphne the puppy (for those that remember) says hi and is still as cute as a button lol. Footie continues 3 days a week as we now play outdoor on Fridays. Hope u are all well and looking forward to the weekend.

    'Lo everybody

It is indeed warmer here today!!

Had a lovely walk and coffee this afternoon with the bonus that Gibbs met 3 of his Mini Schnauzer cousins!! Someone said it looked liked someone had got carried away with the photocopier!

Annie, Poor 9 year old! I bet he is absolutely gutted. At least he saw it

Rosie, that'll be a photo to treasure

Bond, we could still do with more sunshine if you can spare it!

hugs and hellos to Maddy, Chrissie, Bernie, MBD, Penny (gentle, slightly-keeping-my-distance hug!), and CB

    Evening all,
Hi Bondy, lovely to see you , and good news that the lovely Daphster is still as cute as ever. Hope the sun packages have been sent express delivery, we really cant hold on much longer :-)))

Rosie, Annie, I have been watching the torch progress today, glad you managed to see it . I am hoping to see it in Manchester in two weeks time.

Oh Pen, what bad news , hope you are feeling better soon. I have been like a sleep walker round the office today. Bumping into furniture and just being totally random . So i took a vitamin C when I got in , followed by the rest of the maltesers and a packet of Cheddars. I am determined to eat myself well ;-))) If all this fails, I will resort to fruit and veg !

Ali , hope you are feeling brighter too. We were all grouchy and grumpy at work today. No matter how hard we tried we just couldnt snap out of it, until some lemon drizzle cake arrived , and suddenly the world was so much better .

Nipped to the supermarket after work to buy some picnic bits and bobs for our train journey to Edinburgh on Friday morning. Three carrier bags later and £26 spent ........... how do i manage to do this every time ??? At least i managed not to buy an Orchid or a new bread board ! I think we will be ten stone heavier when we finally arrive !

Right, i think i need an early night , its amost dark outside and there is nothing but footy on the telly.

    Love to all

    Morning all!

What a lovely bunch you are. Thank you Chrissie, Maddy, Annie, Sezza, MC, Mary, Bids, AliB, and anyone I have inadvertently missed.

I’m feeling much better this morning. Don’t know what that was all about, but warmth and a good sleep seem to have worked wonders, fingers crossed!

Mary, I hope you recover enough to enjoy your weekend x

MC, I have chocolate waiting for me, a LARGE bar of C**burys, bought on special offer at half price. You might have seen them in ELH, they have the Diamond Jubilee wrapper. In fact I bought two bars. Would have been foolish not to!

CB, you go girl. I did lol about the trousers. As Maddy says you do have to be careful. I hope you drove off with your doors locked. I can’t abide bullies, they are the pits.

Annie, bet 9 year old was bereft. Poor lad.

JG, good to read you, hope you’re ok x

Maddy, hope the leg is on the mend x

Bids, you are a treasure, I love reading your posts.

Evans Christopher! You can’t beat Jersey Royals with butter and home grown mint, simple but delicious.

I have a very nice car and a superb car cleaner, I sleep with him! Even in the hosepipe ban he got out there with a bucket and sponge, what more could a girl ask for? Oh, and he did cook his own dinner last night without a gripe. He won’t see this, he doesn’t read the blog or know anything about my alter ego! Thanks goodness.

Hello to Bondy and everyone else, I will be back.

    Hi everyone:

Just checking in, and having a wee catch up.

First of all, Pen, that's great you are feeling better. It was dodgy for a wee while there, but glad to hear you are through it!

Maddy: I am sure you are still a Living Doll! Love that record, but then, I do love my Cliff!

Annie: when I read about your grandson deleting the video, I could have cried for him - bless. xx

Rosie: yes, a part of history and you were there - I think that is great.

Sezza: very funny about the dogs! I really did laugh about the photocopier.

JG: always nice to see you - Saturday is just around the corner!

MC: I want to join you for that picnic on the train!

Mary: I really hope you are feeling better today. xx

Bingo: Oh No! No armbands - how unfair! Thanks for the links to the videos - I'll be checking them out at lunchtime.

Bids: that's great you got all your work completed and you can look forward to your week off. And I am very happy to say that I will be sharing some of that time with you! Hurrah!

Hope everyone else is ok - happy Thirsty Thursday!

    C xx

    Happy Thursday Everyone.

No rain here so far today but the sky is looking a bit grey.

I hope those not feeling well are better today. My leg is healing very quickly with the help of Savl*n, we used to call it the magic cream when my son was little. The strange thing is the mild scrape further down my leg which I took no notice of is now swollen and bruised.

Chrissie-more like a worn out old rag doll these days LOL!

Off to the shops as I'm running out of chocolate amongst other things>>>>>>>>>

Just sitting here tucking into my home made ham salad, its very dark her in Shropshire today, never got the allotment yesterday and dont think I will today. I am getting really fed up with this weather it would be so nice to have a lovely sunny week please.

Thanks for the words of advice yesterday I did think after my confrontation that it could have been worse but it was one of those petrol stations where you drive up to the kiosk and pay so the bully went before me. I still stand by my actions and apart from that it has made my friends you bloggees, family and work colleauges giggle at me.

Hope those of you feeling a bit under the weather get better soon,

JG glad to hear you are looking forward to Edinburgh.

Bids have a lovely week off

To those of you checking out the torch glad you are enjoying it and have seen some lovely photos that you guys have taken of the torch on facecloth.

Maddy: hope your leg will be better soon. I stupidly managed to whack my bag off my leg at lunchtime today, and I can feel the bruise forming as I type!

CB: we did, indeed, think you were very brave yesterday! xx

    Bingo/Sean: the videosssssh are terrific!

MC: I know - how come leisure time flashes past, and work time just drags, no matter how busy we are? I don't get it, I just don't get it!

Andy: a hat might be required, once I know how the hair cut really looks - I didn't have the courage to wash my hair this morning!

Susan: yes, it's difficult to walk away from a hairdresser you can trust. I am sure you will look great tomorrow - shaggy hair is all the rage! That goes for you, too, Annie!

Pen: thank you, my leg seems to be ok, thank goodness. I really did whack it, and I bruise like a peach usually, but I got away with it this time!

mtd: have really missed seeing you here. xx Looking forward to tomorrow!

MC: actually, you might need the WD40, everything is bound to seize up in this weather!

Sezza: happy birthday to Mr Sezza! It is also MrS's birthday today, so double celebration! He was 19 when I met him ... where, oh where have the intervening 39 years gone?! Honestly, I don't have a clue.

To all the lovely bloggers who are in transit, today or tomorrow - have a safe journey and I am sooo looking forward to seeing all of you!

Hope everyone else is ok today.

    C xx

    Morning All,

It's clouding over nicely here, just in time for the weekend!

To all those going to Edinburgh, have a fab time - I know you will. I can already here the squeals of delight as you meet up tonight. Big hugs to you all {{{}}} xx

I'm off to an open air concert tomorrow, the type that you bring a picnic too and wave a Union Jack. Could be interesting in the rain!

Now I know that Chris has some ardent fans on here, who won't hear a bad word said against him, but I can take it.

CHRIS EVANS, I know you've got lots of expensive cars. I know that you'd like to go to Le Mans this weekend. I know that you are going to an auction tomorrow to buy a new family car. BUT PLEASE for the love of my sanity, don't keep going on about it. I don't want to tune into a radio station and listen to you, IMHO, boasting about your cars and money and how you can do what you want, when you want etc. I realise that you are very generous "charity wise" but please reign it in a bit talking about your cars.

There I've said it. Apologises to anyone I might offend, but after the last couple of days I'm a bit fed up with it.

Sezza, There's music exams in the church today, fortunately I'm not there! Good luck to Boy2 and Happy Birthday to Mr Sezza xx

Right I need to think about what wet weather clothes we have to get us round Edinburgh.

Safe journeys everyone and see you tomorrow somewhere in Scotland.

    Hello!

Chrissie, glad the leg is ok, and I'm sure the hair is looking dandy x

AliB, I know where you are coming from. I live with a car nut, so am quite used to it, but I am able to tell him to button it when I've heard enough!

Happy Birthday Mr Sezza and MrS. A few sherbets, maybe later?

No so cold today, but very blustery, heavy showers and sunshine.

If he needs to rest, I can confirm that there are many, many pubs in Edinburgh - and we may be in a few of them!

Just back from wild, wet and windy Edinburgh - they brought their bloomin' weather with them!!

They were reasonably well-behaved till a man with a kilt walked in to the pub. Of course Debs and Crumpy were the ringleaders. I left them ready to head off round the corner to an Italian restaurant - the poor waiters won't know what's hit them.

Lovely to see everyone - and even more people tomorrow.

We shall be the red bus tour of bloggers tomorrow - SORRY Edinburgh - just think yourself lucky we are only bloggers not a hen party!!!!

    Hi everyone:

Well, to any blogger who has attended a blog meet - you know what I am going to say, don't you? We had a terrific day/evening yesterday! Just so lovely to meet up with everyone again - what a great bunch of people. Lots of great chat, loads of laughs, and hugs for ever more. MrS had a great time, he was able to meet most of the bloggers, and he now can understand the attraction of the blog for me.

Weather - beyond words - wild, wild, wild comes reasonably close to describing it! I tell you, our bloggers are a tough bunch - they did not let the weather deter them for a single moment.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Edinburgh Meet 2012: it was a pleasure to see you all - hugs and kisses.

Hope everyone else is ok - ChezS, the excitement continues - last ever Westlife show (for us) tonight: it's bound to be very emotional - MsS and I have never missed a tour since she was just a wee girl - I'll miss this experience with her.

Sezza: I love the Google thingy today - it's brilliant!

Hope everyone is ok today - I am having a day's holiday tomorrow, to recover from all the excitement this weekend!

    Sundee Greetings Ter YOU...

    Bingo Star 'ere...

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear:

Ave recently cracked the screen on 'touch' screen mobile phone after it fell outta me shirt pocket and bounced down the stairs in me new old 'ouse while a was in FULL flow of a Bingo Star DIY operation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok better me phone falling if something is gonna fall and noot me falling of me 6 metre 'igh ladder the other dee when a was banging up a new gutter!!!!!!!
(PS The gutter is performing most nice.... most nice with plenty of testing due to our typical UK summer!!!!!!!!)

So 'gutted' a was with me broken phone.... but it was still working..... The only problem with me screen cracked it's noot easy ter see beyond the cracks!!!!!!!!!
Escpecially when a was recently viewing new double glazing upvc french doors via me net app!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So terdee a finally decided ter change the glass screen after ordering a new one for 15 sheets from via the net!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me kit came with tiny screwdrivers ter do the techno operation of taking me smartphone apart smartly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All was going well until 2 of me 3 power points broke off me mother circuit board!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Panic set in.... could this be the end of me phone a thought?????????????

But amazingly after getting out me soldering iron a manged ter solder the tiny connections back on, that a tiny robot 'ad done before, ter try and get reconnected..... And ter me amazmentation.... It worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only thing now am a on borrowed time until me connections break.... thus breaking me connection!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But this is not what worrys me the most.... losing connection from me mobile phone.... It's the wealth of information ave banged in me phone over the past 18months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ave got an important notes area of 'X-Factor tunes that suit me voice'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes over the years when a 'ear a song on the radio that is great, would make a great performance and suits the key a sing in..... Just in case a can ge tthe courage ter give it a go on the X gig!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For example 'ere are 2 totally different examples of great songs that suit me voice and a could do a great performance with:

https://youtu.be/jmnWXhxlh14 (very scouse sounding accent would suit this, nice gentle tempo)

https://youtu.be/ZR0v0i63PQ4 (am very good at singing 'yeah'... Part of me daily vocal exercises.... and easy elec guitar.... a strange choice but could do a brilliant male version of this song!!!!!!!)

https://youtu.be/jkMGf2_NKvs (this song me numbe rone choice it is so suited to my voice!!!!!!!!)

Then there's jokes ave got in me phones in case a decided ter do a stand-up comedian line of stuff and not The X Factor.....

    Examples :

A toilet attendant was asked by their employer ter work a bank 'olidee....
The attendant asked what are the benefits....
The employer replied: Double pay and a day in loo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Or:

A was putting petrol inter me car at a petrol station when a burst inter tears....
A fellow motorist noticed and asked me am a ok.....
A replied..... It's the 'igh cost of fuel causing me inside ter fill up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Or:

Why is when yer buy a 25th Wedding Anniversary photo frame......
The model couple in the photo frame are in their twenties???????????????????????

This blog friends is just a little insight inter what is going on DEEP inside Bingo Star's mobile phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Which is why am in a panic now.... Ter get all me madness outta me phone and written down in case me solders break..... thus losing me permenant power!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And just in case the stage bekons.... But only if a can get over me stage fright!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Of which am off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS A went ter the X-Factor auditions a few weeks ago in Manchester.... just ter check out the situation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not sure if ave got the guts ter give it a go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Tatty gye!

Hi I'm glad you all had a fantastic blog meet, I know I'm very sporadic in my own blogging but I do lurk now and again and am glad it's still going strong. As bondy said the weather is good again, I'm feeling for you all with the awful weather you're having at the mo. Life is good for me at the moment, I'm taking various holistic courses and loving them. I've got mixed emotions because my youngest son at 23yrs is about to join the army, I'm both very proud but also terrified. My oldest son is about to join the Olympics as part of the coaching team of the GB women's basketball team, all of wich I can only watch from afar. I know I'm lucky to be able to travel to and live in various countries, we're going to live in Singapore soon, but I would love to be able to see our sons, pop around the corner to my sister and see my brothers. Enjoy all of these things and don't take them for granted. I would love, fish and chips eaten out of the paper and a proper sausage. America is lovely but their cuisine ain't.

It's not quite sure if it's going to be a glorious morning here or not! We've had the rain before 7 so I'm hoping we're now due the fine by 11! It's trying to brighten up...........I think!

What has brightened my morning up immensely is receiving a beautiful bouquet at work! My manager sent them out as to thank me for something I did last week - proper made me smile that has! There are gold roses and dark pink gerberas and the sun is just shining on them

Sounds like all the travellers had a lovely weekend - I raised a glass to you! That poor stag party!

MaW, Good to read you xx You must be very proud of your boys xx

Sezza, Arh bless your manager, that's a nice thing to receive on a Monday morning xx

My concert in the park on Saturday was a bit chilly and very windy. But we're British and didn't let that stop us having a good time. Before the Royal Philharmonic was the 21st Century Stones, who were very good.

I really chuckled this morning when "Saint Moira" swore live on the radio. Perhaps she is not so saintly after all and Chris can take her off that pedestal he's put her on!

    Afternoon all

Glad to see all those present in Edinburgh had a good time, if somewhat damp judging by the pictures and Debs misbehaving - surely not!!!

I had an interesting end to father's day yesterday, when expecting to find the boy (now 2 1/2) asleep, he was in his sister's bedroom, having found a blue felt tip, which he had used all over his bare legs. He looked like something out of Braveheart - to say his mother was unimpressed, would be the understatement of the year!
