volleyball - well when me and Mr bp first lived together he used to play every weds night with his dad and some other men of a certain age. As I didn't (don't) like being left alone I tried to go along with him but it was a waste of time and I really am not that good - so bad in fcat that Mr bp snr got quite cross with me, and he is a scary fellow.

back to sandwiches - it was only after reading all the comments last night and this morning that I reminded myself that I used to work in a sandwich shop at the tender age of 14 - not very happy memories but I do know that hot sandwiches are cut into rectangles and cold sandwiches into triangles

Baggy - I didn't know there were protocols to sandwich cutting. There is more to the humble sarnie than I thought! When I was little, my Mum used to cut my sandwiches with a pastry cutter so I would have rounds and stars etc. Probably a total waste of bread but I when I feel glum, I still make myself a "pretty" sandwich!

My office is a sauna - the fan is just blowing hot air around. The beach in Bournemouth sounds tempting and trains go straight there from Guildford ( I think). Hmmmm - may join the prison break!

MissP: My dad used to do that - he'd cut the jam sandwiches into squares and then into triangles (so technically i had 8 tiny sandwiches)

I was at mum and Dads on Saturday and he'd made sausage sandwiches and he'd cut his mum's and CJ's straight then mine was cut diagonally but so I had two funky shaped sandwiches lol.

Mr P and I were talking about banana sandwiches at the weekend - how strange! Only good when freshly made.

My Dad's fave was buttered white bread with condensed milk poured over it - double yuck! Must admit, I quite like bread & milk - my nana used to make it for me.

Miss p - my nanna used to make it for my dad (she being his mum) and so he made it for us - but we said no!! I do love hot weetabix (other wheat biscuits are avaible but rubbish) though so not all wasted.

My Mum has weetabix (other wheat etc..) with hot skimmed milk every morning. When she comes to stay with us, my biggest cat sits staring at Mum until she finishes and then proceeds to lick the bowl clean. Ergo, hot weetabix must be a Puss thing!!

Gosh I'm shattered

Sorry can't do anything other than ice cold milk on any cereal. Have a particularly lovely granola at the moment with cranberries and blueberries and it makes the milk purple - I know little things!

Steve now you just haven't lived if you don't do granola! Mind the best I had was in New York and it was all cinnamony which was brilliant as I lurve cinnamon. Twas a well known brand we have over here but they don't sell it here boohoo. PS Steve I do the cranberries and blueberries in those formats too!

Afternoon all,

Sandwiches.. boxing day - fresh white bread, left over turkey, cranberry and stuffing. Mmmm.

I always have trouble finding sandwiches in supermarkets, I can't eat brown bread and I don't like mayonnaise so finding something is nearly impossible.

Cereal - the only way I can eat the wheaty biscuit cereal is spread with butter and jam and eaten like toast, yes I know, I'm weird!

We have recently discovered Amish baked oatmeal for breakfast, lots of different recipes but the one I use has oats, eggs, milk, sugar, dried fruit and nuts. Mix it all up stick it in a tin and bake it. Then eat it hot with hot milk. More of a winter thing though!

Hungry now, will have to go investigate what there is to eat, though as I have yet to go food shopping, I suspect not much!

I used to work in the lab at weedybricks, and one of the tests I had to carry out was the SWAT test, where I had to measure how much impact a biscuit could take. Never really been sure why they needed to know that...

The thing is... Sir Tel's audience a think the average age was about 52 or 53 if a remember correctly!!!!

A notice CLP is cleverly targeting the younger audience by 'aving parts of the show like the kiddies phoning in... all 'elping the show ter appeal ter both adults & kids too!!!!!
Most clever move!!!!!!

And aswell as attracting new listeners from the younger audience also wanting ter 'old on ter most of Sir Tel's TOG dudes!!!!!!

One way is getting the balance of music correct!!!!!

But a think now could be the right time ter very gently start playing slightly younger music (not full blast R1 type music otherwise all yer older audience will do a runner) but a think now is the time ter gently play a bit more younger music ter attract more 20 ter 40 year olds... but being careful not ter alienate the over 40 listeners!!!!!

She stood up dressed in a little coat and hat and walked on two back legs all around the arena. All the crowd were clapping and cheering, she loved it and so did I.

Annie - tried for tickets direct from the Sage just after they were released last Friday morning and all sold out. Bums as you would say as I would have loved to have seen him again. Saw him with Kathryn Tickell last December and his stage presence is amazing - he was born just down the road - sigh!!

I'm hungry with all the talk of cereals! I've always been really bad at eating breakfast but my new years resolution was to eat breakfast every day and I've stuck to it, so far gained a stone in weight :-) (not often that someone's happy to gain weight!)

I have my nephew staying tonight on his 1st night away from home on his own (he's 3), so far so good but I wonder how early all the kids will be up!

Theres only ONE way to eat weetabix, done it all my life, so dont know any different.

Not being a milk drinker, the cereal bowl can prove a bit of a challenge ( the contents that is!!)

But the weetabix has always been eaten just like a piece of toast in our house, nice layer of proper butter, then top it with some luvverly H/M jam.

Swipe up the crumbs with another blob of butter on your knife.

Same goes for shredded wheat.
