Yay !! Have a good time in Bath you two. Not been there since I was 22 and don't have very good memories of it !! Perhaps time I re-visited and changed my mind.

It only went and rained this morning - told you the sky was grey ! Now sunny as you like.

Can't ahve a bath at the moment as the taps are broken and its outseide Mr bp's knowledge base - tried unscrewing it and hitting it and didn't work! Luckily we have a shower!

Chris - You are bonkers doing this challenge IMO, though Bath is a fine city. Did a trip of the baths many years ago and tasted the water - disgusting - almost threw up!
It's supposed to be sunny here today but it's straining to get through. Weeding day today - exciting huh!

Bath is on my "places to visit" list - it looks beautiful.

Marjie: funnily enough, just this morning I said to my husband "I honestly feel I have done absolutely nothing with my life" but then he reminded me of the fact that our daughter exists, we have had wonderful holidays together, and in general just a really blessed life. But, I still would have loved to work in "continuity" on telly and in movies, instead of typing for a living!

Pronunciation: Ms Love informed me that Portsmouth is pronounced Portsmoo (I think!).

Dreamer (from the previous blog): yes, I know just the likes of that wee wumman! However, she must be doing alright if she can afford Burberry for her dog!

You are absolutely right. I think we probably all look back and think we could have done more all of us have good and bad in our lives. You sound a lot like me, I have a lot to be thankful for, a nice home, a son to be proud of and, funnily enough, since my health deteriorated, complete peace of mind. This is because I,m no longer restless and always thinking that I should be doing something more exciting.

I see my first blog again has been removed.

Don't know why as it's not been written differently from the later ones & it contains nothing nasty.

All I wrote was abit a fun banter regarding CLP/ Jonny's bob skeleton trip & a good luck message for them!

Then a wrote about my good news that last night I got my GCSE maths exam results for my March & got a A & B grade!

Why am I suddenly being singled out by the blog moderators?

Is somebody continually complaining about my posts - trying to ruin my enjoyment of the blog?

I don't understand why after four years of blogging suddenly my blogs keep getting removed when I am only writing nice things & joining in in CLP's blog!

PS I've put a copy of my moderated blog on FB!

Again if any can find anything wrong with it please tell me!

And if i'm not welcome here anymore, please either CLP or the moderators tell me & as much as it will really, really sadden me I will stop blogging.

Bingo - well done for your GCSE marks- trains here you come!

Dozy - as long as I see (and cuddle) my three cats daily I'm pretty lax with them, in a love them but they want to be outside playing kind of way.

Saffy has managed to get herself locked in next doors shed and the attic so we always go looking for her if shes not seen in the morning and when I get home!

I also think that I have a very charmed life but forget sometimes, I have a job I like sometimes and challenges me, a hubby, a house and we are not on the breadline.

But its the if onlys that get to me too - and the big one which cannot be talked about does get me down a lot at the moment!

Afternoon all

I went to Bath (deffo pronounced Barth) some time ago - to give you a clue Culture Club's first single was in the charts and we were all at the is he/isn't he stage with Boy George. The only reason I remember that was that it was also the time when video screens had recently been introduced into night clubs and bars - and the main thing I remember about that weekend is going to a bar with such screens (a first for me).

I'm now back at work, feeling a bit wooly headed but catching up slowly.

Thought I would put a bit of a travelogue together for the blog (in instalments but nowhere near as comprehensive as Bingo's).

Part 1 (getting to the cruise)

We left home on 8th April to stay overnight in a hotel near to Heathrow - for me that is when the holiday started. The hotel that we had found was quite small (only 47 rooms) and the price included parking for up to 15 days (just as well as it turned out). The situation of the hotel was delightful being set in about 5 acres of woodland - we saw some Munjac (sp) deer out of the window of our room.

Next morning was a leisurely transfer to Heathrow where we were due to take off at 12.50pm - 4 hours later we were still sitting on the plane on the stand, the airline had had a computer failure and were not able to load any baggage or food until the weight ratio had been calculated. 3 hours in, they offered us orange juice or water and decided to switch on the entertainment system......

This of course meant that arrival in Shanghai was delayed and the first day was spent catching up on sleep. We had met a couple of other people who were going on the same cruise and discovered that our transfer had been booked for a time that would have meant that we would have had to wait for quite some time at the cruise terminal - frantic phone calls to the travel agent did not produce any change in the time, so we thought we would wing it the next day and if necessary take a taxi to the port. We also tried to suss out how to get to the GP on our return but it turned out that the tickets would have been extortionate (it would have been cheaper to buy 3 day tickets before we left and just used the last day).

After a meal and a few drinks we went to repack and sleep for the night.

The following morning our original transfer car arrived on schedule and after 20 minutes was finally persuaded to leave without us. After breakfast we waited for our travelling companion's transfer to see if they could fit us in (they had transfers booked with the same company). Again after a lot of bowing and smiling we were able to share their minibus (there were 3 of them and 2 of us - loads of room)....

On arrival at the port - more forms to fill in (we had already had to do this on the plane) and finally got on to the ship after the OH had to give the authorities his lighters - beware any travellers, you cannot take lighters through security at any port or airport in China, as you can't pack them either it is quite awkward until you can get a replacement. Especially as the cruise company did not sell them either - their answer was 'ask a member of staff' - all very good unless you want a ciggie at 3.00 in the morning....... We were able to buy one when we got to Japan on day 3 though.

We had to leave him in America 30 years ago, so he must be long gone, but last Saturday night, MrS and I talked about him for about two hours! Bingo - i like your posts - find them quite amusing - I don't know what's up with the mods - perhaps it's the way you write them!?! Anyhoo, many congratulations on the GCSE results - that's fantastic news. Keep your chin up!

Count your blessings comments - I agree, it's easy to feel you haven't achieved much in life but when you think about it there's always a lot to feel blessed about.

Place names - I love these - there is a place in Fife which is spelled Kilconquhar and pronounced Kinnuchar (the ch being the same as in loch).

Gail - I hope your boiler is sorted soon. Phase 1 of fixing my heating system begins on Friday. It's going to be a long slow process as there are so many things wrong with it. We limped quite badly through the worst of the weather with no central heating and a couple of electric fires. Electricity direct debit has gone up by £70 per month! Hey ho - just thankful I'm able to pay it. the one big blessing through it all was that we had hot water. Hope the cats will be okay.

MTD - I will be logging in regulary to catch up on your travel-blog - do you see what I did there? Sounds like you'll have lots of stories to tell.

Auntie Sandy - Good luck with your grip and swing practice.

Well I'd better get back to the grind. Nothing to report from Lincolnshire. A brief weather update - it's a bit breezy and overcast but at least it's dry.

Nic - when you're finished weeding, would you like a visit to Lincolnshire - I'm struggling to get time to weed the garden / cut the grass? I hope you and Deevs are okay - still got everything crossed for you both on the jobs front.

Btw and talking about having all things crossed, any word on CSN's other daughter's baby's arrival? Sorry peeps been so busy lately haven't had time to catch up.

I once had an interview in Bath for a job as a ride-on tractor mower salesperson. I got the job but decided I couldn't afford to move to Bath so didn't take it up. I just remember it being a really beautiful place in a valley... and a bit of a bugger to get into (traffic "sigh").

Bingo I'm sorry, I've tried to keep out of this and let you work things out for yourself but I feel I have to say something.

The reason you are being moderated, it seems to me, is for your own good as much as for any other reason. As you say yourself, you were not in a good place some months ago, and sharing your feelings in such a public place was never going to be positive for you, or indeed, for the spirit of the blog. And hence you are being 'supported' by the moderators.

My views are exactly the same today as they were on the day I met you in Liverpool, in an attempt to try to help, lift and support you in your hour of need. In other words, that no-one is out to "get" you, destroy you or even impede you. You were, and are, like the rest of us in experiencing good and bad fortune in life. The trick is to become more self-aware, so that we can recognise unhelpful thoughts and patterns for what they are, and not to blame others for our negative experiences in life.

Now, sometimes, we feel so overwhelmed by these negative patterns and thoughts that we need some help, and there's nothing to be ashamed of in asking for it, from friends, colleagues..or even professionals. And I thought you were, indeed, completely overwhelmed, and low in energy and spirit. Luckily, there were, and still are, so many of our lovely, sweet bloggers willing, nay eager, to join me in trying buoy you up and help in any way they could. You are lucky, my friend. You have friends. Lovely ones. Ones who genuinely care and want to help. You can, and should, repay this kindness by moving forward, away from the victim personality and embracing the poweful one which has everyone laughing and waiting for the next instalment.

Your travel blogs recently have been amazing. Funny, enlightening, interesting... I'm sure you felt brilliant when you'd written them and had the response you did to them. Pick up that ball and run with it, sunshine. That's something unique and priceless that you CAN do, and it will breed the positivity you desperately need.

Stop protesting about being a "nice" person. We can all read between the lines and make up our own minds about whether each and every one of us is "nice". And, speaking personally, I never waste my time around people who are NOT "nice". Life is too short, and mine, in particular, is too precious to waste on those who have a toxic effect upon my spirit.

You have a fantastic opportunity here to turn things around for yourself. But you need to acknowledge that you are being supported. And do you know what, maybe that apology would be a good thing. No buts, just an apology. That little unconditional word, Sorry, is one of the most powerful and healing in the English language. But you have to mean it. Saying sorry is never a sign of weakness, but rather of strength, compassion and intelligence. And in healing others with that one little word, you will strengthen yourself and become that Nice person that you want to be. Trust me.

I hope you know I'm sending this with love and warm wishes. And not just to you, but to anyone else feeling that life is conspiring against them. The Universe often throws up extraordinary circumstances just at the point when we feel we can't deal with any more. And hence the saying, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger."

Now then, Bath. LOVE it, beautiful city. Was only there myself some months ago doing a spot of retail recreation, tea an' crumpets in the galleries, cultural enlightenment in the Pump Rooms an' gettin' squiffy an' philosophical in one of the posher hostelries.

Can't wait to see yous an' Johnny hurtlin' down a precipice on the aul tin tray, Christoff. Am in a bit of a mad jealous rage, actually. An' funny enough, it was en route back from the Bath Sevens that the Rugger-Bugger Brother-Outlaw decreed that no-one should be allowed to sleep on the coach until safely back in Wigan, and anyone showin' signs of glazin' over or noddin' was revived in spectacular style with a sharp bash on the head with the tin tray.

Just popped in.

The P14 is the record of wages tax and NIC for each employee and will be sent with the P35 automatically by Sage payroll. P38(S) is for if you pay any students working in their holidays for you, as its a declaration that they won't earn enough to pay tax.

Therefore on the software you should answer yes taht you've included all the P14's (as presumably you've included all the employees you've paid this year) and no if you don't need a P38.

There are a lot of things that I don't have that I wish I had, but I have to remind myself that I am very blessed and maybe I shouldn't have the things I want as I might not be the person that I am. (If that makes sense!)

You all know about my obession with Sandra Bullock, well some good news. She has adopted a little boy, despite everything that has been going on recently she has managed to keep this quite, she is also divorceing Jessie James...phew. I am all for adoption, and this little boy is from New Orleans so not the usual celebrity thing of adopting from outside the country - go Sandra.

I've not written anything nasty on the blog since the middle of February when things came to a head!

I pulled myself together, without professional help.... ave shown alot of stength & passed my exams all two weeks after the event!

I've kept away from a certain perosn who caused me alot of upset & said some very nasty things to me in private!

Since then I have returned to my old strong funny self on the blog like you advise me!

But how am I able to do this when these very blogs are removed?

I have alwys enjoyed watching golf but since getting together with GG last year have begun to hit the ball. I have had 2 lessons. Now try to go the range once a week to keep up what I have learnt. Last Sunday went round a nine hole par 3 and enjoyed it - will do that a few more times before going back and having a lesson or 2 on other areas (pitching and putting for example)! Let me know how you get on!

I also want to add, when you get close to someone & you see the real them behind the charm & smile, sometimes you find that people can be very two faced!

I have always been very nice to people, while certain people only put me down & be little me!!!

Thankfully i've now moved on & want nothing to do with such people who only used me & caused me alot of hurt!

Garden now looking better than it did 48 hours ago, weeds gawn, grass mowed, bushes cut back and tied up, brown bin full to the brim. And my elbow hurts!

Quizology tonight, but not drinking too much as interview tomorrow for a temp role. Not my ideal job, but money coming in will be nice whilst I look for something more me.

Hello All.

I have to write this as a mother. I know that all mothers will stand up for their own sons and daughters but I am I swear writing the true facts.

Firstly Bingo is an amazingly strong, intelligent, common sense, kind, thoughtful, generous person. In fact what he has been through would definitely break most people.

He renovated a house doing all the work himself including electrics,CH garden, the lot only for his other half to walk away with a large sum.
Then he met a string of unsuitable women, materialistic,taking advantagr of his sweet nature, etc.

He is an extremely hard working person and has been bullied in his jobs, I suspect because of his polite personality. I've seen coming home


after

work looking completely and totally exhausted but he picks himself up and carries on. And at the same time studying and now, happily, passing exams. He missed his school exams because of his Guiness Book of Records Challenge, maybe this is my fault, I don't really know.

I know that he is extremely talented, I've heard his guitar playing coming from his room and seen some of his songs.

Regarding his "blog romance" he has confided in me when at breaking point and I know the truth. I won't say too much because I would be modded but he met 'not a very nice personality at all, maybe, in fact, surely because of many life's troubles.

All this he goes through with no support from a father who does'nt want to know him except when there's something in it for him. And when I am in and out of hospital with heart/lung illness, my own fault caused by smoking.

As he's been through all this lot with no help from happy pills, etc.
I'd say that he has the strengh of a lion.

I know some people will not like me for writing this but I have to speak what I know to be the absolute truth.

Marjie: I have read your post and with each sentence, my jaw was dropping further onto the floor.

I completely understand your need to explain things re: your lovely son. We (almost) all love "Bingo" and we do know that he has had some really tough times.

Hopefully, from being on this blog recently, you will see the love and support the bloggers give to Bingo. We are really happy for all his achievements and we think he is a top guy.

I hope this all gets sorted and that Bingo can just get on with his life, being the terrific guy he is.

I am sure he will be so proud of you posting this message today.

Bingo. Well done you, and am first to be only too delighted to say that. All credit to you for achieving what you have.

But it's a work in progress, stay focussed and keep at it. And please, you don't have to justify yourself to ME, do it for yourself. I'm not offering you the Holy Grail, just a little guidance and support from one who knows how it is to make mistakes.

What you don't seem to be hearing is that you HAVE to stop blaming the other person. You have made your point that you have been hurt. But relationships are complex, and the fact that you felt that way will be more down to your perception and dashed hopes for the relationship than cruelty on the part of the other person. I've been in relationships wherein I've felt trapped, and I've acted harshly in order to break free. But I'm not a cruel or heartless person. I'm simply human. You may be interested to hear that the guilt I feel over hurting one fantastic man in particular, necessary as it was at the time, I carry with me to this day. It's a scar that never heals, despite that I remain his close friend to date.

So no more mention of it; at least not on here. Ok? Let it heal.

And Marjie. Bless you. But you know, I'm trying to remember who it was whose mother said to her, "Don't tell me chapter and verse about the fights you have with your husband. Because then you guys go off and sort it out in the bedroom, and I'm left still mad..."

It's hard for us mums to watch our babies struggle. But they battle through, often with more courage than ourselves; and it's an act of love to let them.

Can I point out how fantastically lucky you are to have such unequivocal support from your mum. She obviously has such faith in you, a man can move mountains with love and support like that.

So if you only do one thing in your life, it's to concentrate on your strengths and talents, and vindicate that pride.

....And now I'll shut up. And limber up to go 3 rounds and a knockout with the GD over how many bags she's bringin' with her to Ireland on Friday.

I had a relationship with a charming man who would ask me out, wait until I was ready to go,then phone to say he could'nt make it and then phone me the next morning to tell me that he went out after all and a wonderful time.

Nothing on earth could make me apologise to him, this is why I know exactly how Bingo feels.

Too many people have spent too much time trying to help somebody who doesn't think he needs any help.

Clodagh must have spent ages writing her post this afternoon and I'm afraid to say it was time wasted.

He will not drop his victim mentality and now his Mother comes along and reinforces it.

Phew! My life is so rock and roll it hurts ..... last night the Mighty Chasetown in the Unibond Play Off Semi Final (c'mon you Scholars!!), now it's Inter/Barca in the Champions League!

I think Lionel Messi would fit in oh so well at The Emirates ......

Pub Quiz night tonight, so doodle pad and inky pen packed, along with some beer tokens - we may not have jobs but life goes on. It's all a matter of planning and budgeting, y'know. Good job Nic doesn't mind eating beans on toast every night ..... ;-)

Been a grey day but very warm . Raining now , and the weekend forecast is not too great.

Just commenting on general stuff, well done on the exam results Bingo, keep going , you will get there. Its nice to see how the hard work pays off. Marjie , ding dong ! , fancy being Bingo's mum , that was a nice surprise !

I always try to look forward , its not that i dont ever look back and say if only. I always work on the principle, that if i had really wanted something badly enough , i would have gone all out to make it happen.


Been shopping without Mr Mc tonight .... bliss !
Bought the same top that i took back last weekend. Wandered round the store and tried the same thing on in all different colours and sizes. Changed my mind dozens of times. and didnt have to give that sheepish smile when paying the bill , the "oh i didnt realise it was THAT much" and I will wear it all, or, i'll try it on again when i get home and take some of it all back !

Mr MC likes shopping , so we travel together and then go our separate ways . I hate having him trawl round with me, even though he says he dosent mind, I always feel a bit compelled to cut it short . Trouble is, he always seems to ring me when i am in a changing room, just trying to extract myself out of something , or just trying to zip it up or that horrible stage when you realise you cant get it back over you head and you might just have to leave the changing room and ask for help.

Christoph - hope today went well for you. It has to be worth remembering that you are a few (just a few mind) years older than Sports mad Saunders. To be so close to parity after some of your challenges is no mean feat (sp?).

Can I bore you with what I did today?

First off - I am not complaining. Work has been dreadful for a while now so stress and worry have started to overtake the day's normal routine. Finally - about two weeks ago the orders started coming through and we now can't cope with the work we have (again, I am not complaining) but we will, and I would always take this option over the other.
Anyway..... because money has been the main concern for the last year I have put off starting our little extension. Nothing grand, just a downstairs toilet and utility room.
We planned to do this three years ago and now the planning is about to lapse.
So, since I realised this I have been planning to dig the footings and pour the concrete in order to preserve the planning permission indefinitely.

Yesterday - I woke up (way too early) to one of those days where you feel like your head will explode....too much work to complete.....too much personal stuff to deal with.....deadlines approaching that simply can't be met etc etc

I went into the office as usual and moaned that I couldn't have a coffee (well actually Milham. You could! It's you that decided to give up. No one's going to arrest you) moaned that work colleagues, rugby colleagues, family and friends had dared to email me and generally sulked my way through to lunch time.

At lunchtime a very good friend, an amazing friend a shining star in the solar system of good people rang me and I gave them nothing while they tried to cure my ridiculously unnecessary blues.
Following our conversation, they then sent me an incredible email which I read several times.
Then do you know what I did?

I worked like my life depended on it and took today off.
Today I have called in the help of some other friends and now have the footings for the extension completed.
I ache like a ba&£;:d and am currently typing this from a neck deep bath of R@&£x but I feel refreshed.
The worst thing is that I haven't had the time yet to thank that person.
I'll try and do it tomorrow!!!

Friends are too easy to take for granted aren't they?

Deev - you know my feelings because I was insensitive enough to post them on here. I guess you have to respect their opinions and hope that time repairs the damage. I am happy that it has worked out for you all though x

Clodagh - why do you never say those nice things to me? When I said that you were the thinking mans Anne Widdicombe, I meant it as a compliment!!!
