The kids excluded from mainstream school

Every school day 36 children are permanently excluded from mainstream schools across the UK.

Many of those students then end up at pupil referral units, which aim to give them the extra support and opportunities that they need.

We asked the students at Newhaven School what it’s like to be in a pupil referral unit.
