Social media 'saturated' with alcohol advertising
Hayles celebrated being sober for 100 days with a 'sober mama' tattoo. She doesn't want to see alcohol advertising on social media.
Speaking to BBC 5 live, Hayles, a tattoo-shop owner from South Wales says social media marketing about “wine night for mum when the kids are in bed” and adverts that suggest she “should be out drinking flavoured vodka” could be a trigger.
Facebook are testing a tool which allows users to ‘hide’ all alcohol adverts from their news feed permanently.
The announcement has been welcomed by Alcohol Research UK who have told BBC 5 live that the rules around marketing alcohol brands aren't 'fit for purpose' and social media is 'saturated' with references to drinking.
