“I’m flying 15,000 miles to catch Pokemon in Chester”
A gamer is making a 15,000 mile roundtrip from his home in Chile to catch Pokemon at a special event in Chester.
David Robles, who lives in Santiago, says: “My mum says ‘you are crazy’. Actually someone on the internet, because many people comment ‘I am from Sweden’, so I commented ‘I am from Chile’ and someone commented ‘oh you are insane!”.
The event, taking place over the weekend, has been organized by The Pokemon Company and the UK heritage organization, Big Heritage. Organisers hope it will encourage people to see the city’s historic sights.
But David says that, for him, this is only the start. “In the future I want to go to Australia and to America for special Pokemon because some Pokemon you can only find in a specific region.”
