DUP’s Paisley: I encouraged Trump by email
DUP MP Ian Paisley has revealed he was in regular contact with president-elect Donald Trump during the US election process.
Paisley, son of Sir Ian Paisley, said: “I got to know him through business, and I admired the man. I regularly contacted him via email and encouraged him and gave him my views.”
Donald Trump defeated opponent Hillary Clinton to become the 45th president of the United States.
“This was a serious project and the man can do whatever he wants. He wanted to contribute and give something back – in 30 years from now when this is being taught in history classes – this will be the year of revolution,” added the North Antrim MP.
