Surfer: ‘Why I proposed on the Severn Bore’
Where better to stage a proposal than a natural phenomenon?
The Severn Bore is a large surge wave which travels down the River Seven from the estuary of the River Severn near Bristol up to Gloucester and is the place Peter Abell decided to propose to his girlfriend Angie.
Speaking to 5 live’s Phil Williams, Peter said the proposal had to go ahead on the Seven Bore as his dad had proposed to his mum on the banks of that same river.
“My dad sadly passed away 3 weeks ago”, he said. “I had discussed the proposal with him, he was so ecstatic about the idea; there was no way I wasn’t going to go ahead with it.”
