Irish footballer loses finger in freak accident
A Premier Division footballer in Ireland is recovering from a horrific hand injury which resulted in him losing a finger. Surgeons were unable to reattach Kevin McHugh's finger after his wedding ring got caught in a fence.
He had climbed over it to retrieve a ball during a coaching session and said it was “a surprise to look up and see the finger sitting up on top of the fence.”
“It wasn’t nice to see,” he told 5 live Drive.
Kevin then drove to the hospital but then had to phone his friend to retrieve the finger after he realised he had set off without it.
