'Dettori's Magnificent Seven cost me my house'

Independent bookmaker Gary Wiltshire reveals how Frankie Dettori's seven wins at Ascot back in 1996 cost him his house.

Dettori’s seven winners on the card that day cost bookmakers an estimated £40m.

"Going into the last race I was winning,” Wiltshire said. “And on the last one, when the £10,000 bets were coming, to be truthful I got caught up with it all and afterwards I had to sell the lot, including the house."
