Is this the perfect way to cut a pizza?
A student from Liverpool University shows his method to give everyone a mathematically equal slice of pizza. Stephen Worsley from Liverpool University came up with the idea with a colleague while at maths club, and demonstrated it to 5 live Drive.
Stephen said: ”You have to follow the curvature of the pizza, and cut into six shield shapes.”
An interest in recreational maths sparked the idea to put his knowledge to practical use and solve pizza based arguments.
“It’s a special method, where you can get some pieces with crust and some without,” added the maths whizz.
