Cush Jumbo: I’ve not got roles because of my skin colour
Cush Jumbo, best known for appearing in US series The Good Wife, feels she has missed out on roles because her skin colour doesn’t “fit” with other actors in the production.
Speaking to 5 live’s Phil Williams Ms Jumbo said audition feedback described her as “too black” for some parts and “too light” for others.
“I don’t think those people are racist,” she said, “it’s that we have an idea in our heads here of representation on TV and it doesn’t represent the country that we live in”.
