Icelandic commentator: ‘I didn’t know what I was saying’
An Icelandic commentator has told BBC 5 live that ‘he didn’t know what he was saying’ when he started screaming, as Arnor Ingvi Traustason scored a dramatic injury-time winner against Austria to seal Iceland's place in the last 16 of Euro 2016.
Speaking to Daily’s Peter Allen, Gudmundur Benediktsson described the special moment as a dream come true.
“It was total joy, it’s been a dream of mine since I was a boy. I’m living the dream a commentator.”
