Given: I've seen worse tackles than Dembele 'handbags'

Stoke City goalkeeper Shay Given feels Mousa Dembele's six-match ban for his confrontation with Diego Costa is harsh, arguing he's seen much worse offences on the pitch which have gone unpunished.

Belgium international Dembele appeared to gouge Costa’s eye during Spurs' 2-2 draw with Chelsea on Monday.

"I've seen worse tackles on a field that someone hasn't even been suspended for," Given told George Riley on 5 live Sport.

"His fingers weren't right in his eye, it was more handbags and it was harsh for me."
