'People would have preferred Neville to Ranieri'
The Evening Standard's Tom Collomosse says Claudio Ranieri was unfairly received as the new Leicester City boss.
The appointment of Ranieri to the Foxes job in July was widely questioned by fans and the media, including by former Leicester striker Gary Lineker.
But the Italian has gone on to take Leicester five points clear at the top of the Premier League, going into Sunday's match against Arsenal.
Collomosse says the reaction would have been more favourable had the side appointed Gary Neville, who is yet to win a league match since being named manager of Spanish side Valencia in December.
Ranieri has finished as a runner-up in a league title race with four different clubs, including Chelsea in 2004, Juventus in 2009, Roma in 2010 and Monaco in 2014.
