Broad: Stokes' 'claw' catch 'the best I've ever seen'

Stuart Broad recalls his eight wickets versus Australia in the fourth 2015 Test at Trent Bridge, including Ben Stokes' incredible catch.

Stuart Broad says Ben Stokes' catch in the 2015 Ashes Test at Trent Bridge - the fourth of Broad's eight wickets that day - was the best catch he's ever seen. In a special documentary reliving England's series win against Australia Broad said his emotions got the better of him on witnessing his Stokes' catch, resulting in one of the lasting images of the victorious summer series.

Speaking on Root and Broad: How We Won The Ashes Broad said, "it was the best catch I've ever seen in all my overs of playing cricket...I think I showed the disbelief in my face".

In the documentary Broad also listens to Test Match Special commentary of his performance in the Test. Broad took eight wickets of a calamitous first Australian innings, which saw the visitors bowled out for 60 in just 94 minutes.

Root and Broad: How We Won The Ashes will be first broadcast at 20:30 on Thursday 17 December on BBC Radio 5 live, and available to download afterwards as a podcast on the link below. You can watch the programme from Boxing Day on the BBC iPlayer.
