Nepal brother found: “I was half dead, hearing his voice brought me back to life.”

Abdullah Dahab, from London, was hiking when an earthquake caused avalanches on the slopes of Mount Everest on Saturday 25th April 2015.

After three days with no word and with a death toll of over 4000, his sisters Noora and Sarah Dahab told Adrian Chiles they feared the worst. But twenty minutes after that interview they received a message on social media that Abdullah was safe.

His sister Noora said “it feels like a miracle has happened… it’s just a great relief after a couple of nights with no sleep.” Their mother Hiba Dahab said “I was half dead and hearing his voice has brought me back to life.”

She added: “the worrying hasn’t stopped yet because they still have to make the journey down the mountain.”
