Goal-line technology was used for the first time in the World Cup finals as France began their campaign with a dominant win over 10-man Honduras. Benzema opened the scoring from the penalty spot, technology ruled keeper Noel Valladares to have nudged Benzema's shot over the line and the Real Madrid forward added a late third from a tight angle.
