Festivals

It was the story of the weekend at this year's Nozstock Festival at Rowden Paddocks near Bromyard - where this year they held their Wild Wild West theme.
DJ Yoda, Mr Scruff and Chas & Dave were headlining - but we also nabbed our own stage in 'The Hidden Valley' - and highlights from that will be broadcast throughout the whole of August.

Malvern Rocks!

Taking place across many pubs, hotels and clubs in Malvern, this new music festival put the rich, diverse pool of musical talent in and around Malvern to work for a great local cause: Acorns Children's Hospice.
Three days of free music included pop to punk, folk to metal - in a similar format to that of the Worcester Music Festival.
This year TV star and celebrity chef Loyd Grossman headlined the event with his new band!

In Session

This week's live session was recorded at TWO festivals - Nozstock and Malvern Rocks!
Puffin Ethics is from Hereford - and called himself that because of his asthma and love of inspirational words.
He's one of the newest people in the music scene - but don't let that discourage you - as he's one of the brightest young rappers to emerge in a very long time.

Worcester Music Festival

More than 400 bands will be playing in Worcester this weekend - covering the musical spectrum from Glee to trad jazz.
The gigs will be free - as part of the growing Worcester Music Festival.
The event is entirely run by volunteers and most of the acts are local.
Our daily gig guide
Rachel By The Stream

She once lived in a caravan, would regularly look for discarded musical instruments on Worcester tip, worked as a crystal polisher and a ghost hunter, and writes beautiful songs about life, love and socks.
But this week, the Bromsgrove musician Rachel By The Stream, who relocated to Australia a couple of years ago has returned to the faithful city to perform at this year's Worcester Music Festival - hot off the heels of playing Glastonbury.

Meet The Musicians

Our next recording session takes place on Sunday 1 September at the Worcester Arts Workshop, as part of the Worcester Music Festival, and features the five acts we plan to broadcast throughout August and September.
Acts chosen are: Aimsley & The Doctors, Dead:Lung, Massive Head Trauma & Weathered Hands.
None of these acts knew they were being considered for a live session - they were chosen based on the tracks they uploaded here - which led them to receiving airplay on BBC Hereford & Worcester.
Doors open at 4pm - we're on till 9pm - turn up anytime and admission is free!

Peace at Reading Festival

What a summer it's been for the Worcester band Peace - playing the biggest gigs of their lives.
Their touring schedule began with an appearance at Glastonbury and last weekend they did Reading & Leeds.
The gig, which was televised by the BBC, saw brothers Harry Koisser and Samuel Koisser take to the stage with fellow band members Douglas Castle and Dominic Boyce.
Way back in July 2010, BBC Introducing in Hereford & Worcester gave them their first ever festival gig at Nozstock under their former name November & The Criminal after being included in Andy O'Hare top ten acts of 2009.

A special congratulations to Leominster's George Barnett, who we last put on at the Wychwood Festival, for being among the eight new acts chosen to appear on stage.
We'll hear a special set he played for the BBC on this week's show.
