The 5 most essential Fire In The Booths

April is MC Month on Radio 1Xtra - so we are looking back at some of the best Fire in the Booth moments.
Fire In The Booth is a golden opportunity for any MC. It's a chance for an up-and-comer to grab their seven minutes to impress or for a big artist to prove they can still step up freestyle.
1Xtra Rap Show legend Charlie Sloth plays the beats, they bring the bars, the magic happens.
For Fire In The Booth week we've picked five Fire In The Booth sets you can't miss, from the first to the funniest.

First ever: Mystro
1. The First: Mystro
Charlie Sloth joined 1Xtra to run the Rap Show in 2010 - bringing the Booth with him.
He got Mystro to do the very first 1Xtra Fire In The Booth and it's still legendary, six years on.
Probably still one of the only Fire In The Booths to feature a live flutist!

2. The Youngest: Geko
Geko came to the Booth in 2012, when he was just 15 - two years after he'd been picked up by USG but still scarily young. He's moved on (with no small amount of beef) from K Koke's crew since but this was his Rap Show debut.
His Fire In The Booth is still up on Charlie's channel.

Fire In The Booth – Bugzy Malone
Bugzy Malone reps 0161 in his Fire In The Booth debut!
3. Most Viewed: Bugzy Malone
Bugzy Malone came into the Booth just a year ago - since then he's become the most-watched ever.
Racking up nearly seven million plays on YouTube in just 12 months, his set is the very definition of showing what you've got when you're given the mic.
4. Funniest: Paul Chowdhry (MC PC)
With comedians from Roll Safe to ManDem On The Wall having faced the booth, legendary comedian Paul Chowdhry came in to take on the Booth - in his own words "how hard can it be?"
"MC PC" stepped up to take over beats, including 'Shut Up' by "man from the weather show" Stormzy.
5. First in Hindi (and possibly Most Surprised)
Mumbai rapper Divine came in to BBC Asian Network for a regular interview - he thought.
After admitting he's a huge fan of Fire In The Booth, Charlie Sloth surprises Divine by throwing him straight into it. It's the first Fire In The Booth ever in Hindi and one of the most fire.
