Edinburgh International Festival 2014
BBC Arts produced its most extensive coverage yet from the 2014 Edinburgh International Festival, showcasing the world's finest dance, theatre, art and music.
As well as exclusive extracts and previews from three of the biggest shows - Exhibit B, The James Plays and Inala - we featured musicians and performers from a host of other EIF shows recorded at the BBC@Potterrow events, and BBC Radio 3 broadcast a series of concerts from Queens Hall.

Exhibit B
The most controversial work at the 2014 Edinburgh International Festival was Exhibit B, South African artist Brett Bailey's unique hybrid of performance and exhibition exploring Europe’s colonial history. BBC Arts presents films from a selection of the 'exhibits', along with interviews with the director and performers.

The James Plays
The jewel in EIF's theatre crown was this vividly-imagined trilogy bringing to life three generations of Stewart kings who ruled Scotland in the tumultuous 15th century. BBC Arts presents a special introduction from writer Rona Munro as well as photo galleries and guides to each play.

Inala
Edinburgh International Festival's flagship dance event was Inala, a fusion of South African dance and classical ballet which combines the musical talents of Ladysmith Black Mambazo with stunning performances from the dancers of the Royal Ballet and Rambert.
