The 14 best Live Lounge covers of 2017 so far

We don't want to get sentimental but, as far as Live Lounge sessions go, 2017 has been pretty phenomenal.

Kicking off the year with acoustic sets from the likes of Ed Sheeran, Camila Cabello and Raye, September quickly came round and, with it, Live Lounge Month. You know what that means, don't you? Big names, big tunes.

So, without further ado, why not kick back and allow the major guests of Live Lounge sessions past to blow your proverbial socks off. From Stormzy to Sheeran and beyond, we've rounded up 14 of the best Live Lounge covers of 2017 so far. You are so welcome.

Harry Styles - The Chain (Fleetwood Mac cover)

(Warning: Third party video may contain adverts)

This year's Live Lounge Month saw us welcome some huge names into the studio. Among them was a certain Harry Styles (you might be familiar with his work?) and, well, let's just say that 4.3 million views (and counting) don't lie. His cover of The Chain was off the, ahem, chain.

Paramore - Passionfruit (Drake cover)

(Warning: Third party video may contain adverts)

Drake's a pretty popular guy when it comes to covers - everyone from Arctic Monkeys to Chance the Rapper have put their own spin on a Drizzy classic - but there's a special place in our heart for Paramore's take on Passionfruit. Hit play and find out why...

Niall Horan - Issues (Julia Michaels cover)

(Warning: Third party video may contain adverts)

Months before Hazza set foot in our infamous Live Lounge, his former One Direction bandmate, Niall, hit us up with a cover of Julia Michael's hit 'Issues'. Playing it on repeat? Same.

Stormzy - Sweet Like Chocolate (Shanks & Bigfoot cover)

(Warning: Third party video may contain adverts)

Back in 2014 Stormzy treated us to covers of Drake and Wretch 32, but this year he took it old school with this incredible cover of Shanks & Bigfoot's Sweet Like Chocolate. The nostalgia is real.

Ellie Goulding and Kygo - Sign Of The Times (Harry Styles cover)

(Warning: Third party video may contain adverts)

It was only a matter of time before someone took Harry Styles' chart-topping debut track and gave it the Live Lounge treatment, and who better than Ellie Goulding and Kygo? So. Much. Awesome. In. One. Cover.

Thirty Seconds to Mars - The Tribute Song

(Warning: Third party video may contain adverts)

Brace yourself for all the feels humanly possible because this magical mash-up, courtesy of Thirty Seconds to Mars during Live Lounge Month, consists of David Bowie's Heroes, Soundgarden's Black Hole Sun, Linkin Park's Crawling, Prince's Purple Rain and George Michael's Freedom.

Rag'n'Bone Man - Freedom (Beyoncé cover)

(Warning: Third party video may contain adverts)

You take Rag'n'Bone Man, add a Beyoncé hit (although, let's be real, anything Bey touches is a hit) and what do you get? Literal music to our ears, that's what.

Camila Cabello and Machine Gun Kelly - Say You Won't Let Go (James Arthur cover)

(Warning: Third party video may contain adverts)

We think the combination of Machine Gun Kelly, Camila Cabello and James Arthur's Say You Won't Let Go is genius and it looks like we're not the only ones. With three million views (and counting) this cover is a must hear.

Zara Larsson - All Night (Beyoncé cover)

(Warning: Third party video may contain adverts)

Another day, another Beyoncé cover. This time it's everyone's favourite Swedish singer and songwriter, Zara Larsson, giving us all the feels with All Night.

(Warning: Third party video may contain adverts)

He's featured on a few of Drake's tracks (Too Much, 4422 and The Motion, FYI) so it seemed only right for Sampha to cover Controlla when he landed in the Live Lounge.

P!nk - Stay With Me (Sam Smith cover)

(Warning: Third party video may contain adverts)

JAY-Z, The Killers, Stormzy, Miley Cyrus, Craig David, Sam Smith and P!nk made up part of our stellar line-up during Live Lounge Month 2017. The latter artist (we're looking at you, P!nk) blew us away with this powerful rendition of Sam Smith's Stay With Me.

(Warning: Third party video may contain adverts)

We give this cover the, ahem, green light. But seriously, All Time Low taking on Lorde? Match made in musical heaven.

When Ed Sheeran and Little Mix are involved, it's always going to go down a treat. Don't believe us? Listen for yourself.

Demi Lovato - Too Good At Goodbyes (Sam Smith cover)

(Warning: Third party video may contain adverts)

Demi Lovato paid the Live Lounge a much-needed visit this year (it's been two years since she last swung by) and belted out a b e a utiful version of Sam Smith's Too Good At Goodbyes. Perfection, right?
