![]() ![]() One Planet China is fast becoming one the leading economic powers in the world, on the back of spectacular growth and rapid industrialisation. But what is the cost to its environment?
Almost 180,000 people die in China each year because of pollution, which also accounts for some of the country's cities being the world's dirtiest. As part of the BBC'S China Week, a special edition of One Planet reports from south east China on the high price being paid in the pursuit of ecomomic expansion.
