Highlights: Bayern Munich 5-1 Arsenal
Arsenal have had a “real football lesson”, according to Mark Lawrenson, as Bayern Munich beat them 5-1 in their Champions League group match.
Robert Lewandowski opening the scoring for the German Champions, before Thomas Muller and David Alaba followed suit. Arjen Robben scored 37 seconds after coming off the bench, before Muller scored again to make it five.
Watching Bayern’s display, Mark Lawrenson claimed, “It must be absolutely fantastic to play for a team like Bayern”
The visitors had an equaliser disallowed as Mesut Ozil was deemed to handle the ball, and Olivier Giroud’s goal provided little consolation in the 69th minute.
The result means that Arsenal face an even tougher task to qualify for the knockout stages of the tournament, as elsewhere in their group Olympiakos beat Dinamo Zagreb 2-1.
