Pavarotti sings Nessun Dorma in 1979

Luciano Pavarotti performs the famous aria from Puccini's Turandot. Born on 12 October 1935, Pavarotti studied music in his home town of Modena, Italy. He began his career in the country's regional opera houses and went on to become one of the most commercially successful tenors of all time. He died on 6 September 2007. Originally broadcast on King of the High C’s in January 1979.
