Das Sexy Clap have been stalwarts of the Worcester music scene for a number of years and combine members of bands such as Cape Of Good Hope, And What Will Be Left Of Them? and Hey You Guys!

Now, at the start of the year, Huw Stephens launched his own section of the BBC Playlister website, showcasing ones to watch out for in 2015.

A quarter of those initial 12 acts were from Worcestershire - including this band.

But we knew that anyway, having featured in Andy O'Hare's Top Ten tunes for two years running!

Previously a drum/guitar/vocal duo, the addition of a bass guitar has taken their signature sound into unheralded territory with catch hooks shrouded in a cloak of distortion.

WW2 Cello

WW2 Cello

What's the oldest thing that you've got lying around, that doesn't get used?

A family heir loom or maybe just an old pair of socks?

Well, at the Worcester Museum and Art Gallery there is a cello that was cobbled together in the trenches during World War One.

That's not especially old for something sitting in a museum, but the instrument has remained silent for almost 100 years.

That was until this week...

Making money from music
So, just how do you get signed? It's the question we get asked the most here at BBC Introducing.

Well, Sean Denny is from Hereford and has spent the last 15 years working through every job in the music industry - and now runs his own record label at Sony.

This week, we discuss money.

Join me, Danni Hunt, for the local music news. This week: The chart-topping track by Kington's Ellie Goulding has been streamed more times in a week than any other song - ever.

More details on that later and I'll also have the gig guides for you.

Frank Freeman's

Frank Freeman's

Tonight, a reunion's being held to celebrate the legendary Kidderminster music venue Frank Freeman's.

John Peel, Led Zeppelin and Fleetwood Mac were regulars at the club back in its heyday, but the site of the former club is to be demolished soon.

But it will never be forgotten.

A documentary's being made about what the club means to people, there are also plans for a heritage trail around Kidderminster, taking in the club and even the possibility of a statue of Frank.

BBC Introducing in Worcester

BBC Introducing in Worcester
This month’s sessions were recorded at The Marr’s Bar in Worcester.

The venue has been running for longer than we’ve been on-the-air and has seen some of the region’s best talent perform there.

Every week, we meet loads of musicians who are struggling to get gigs outside of their home town, so these last few months we’ve been bringing more bands over Fromes Hill to perform in their neighbouring county than ever before.

BBC Introducing in Hay-on-Wye

BBC Introducing in Hay-on-Wye
BBC Introducing in Hereford & Worcester supports unsigned, undiscovered and under-the-radar musicians from Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

Since 2011, we've been taking the show out on-the-road showcasing the very best musicians from our two counties.

On Sunday 1 March, we'll be rolling up to The Globe at Hay to record four acts who we've been playing on BBC Hereford & Worcester recently.

We'll bring the bands - all we need now - is the fans!

None of these artists knew they were being considered for a live session - they were chosen based on the tracks they uploaded to us.

So if you'd like to Be Part Of It then simply turn up on the day - it's free to get in - but you must be prepared to make lots of noise for local music!

Doors open at 1pm - but you're more than welcome to turn up anytime until 5pm.
