Episode 3

With performances from Sheffield Britpop legends Pulp, Swedish rockers The Hives, American singer-songwriter Suzanne Vega, rising star Nectar Woode and London band Wunderhorse.

Jools welcomes the return of Pulp, one of the most influential and successful British bands of the last 30 years. Led by their charismatic frontman Jarvis Cocker, Sheffield’s Britpop legends perform a couple of songs from their album More as well as a treat from their extensive back catalogue. Jarvis and Jools also chat at the piano about the album and how it feels to be performing as a band once again.

Jools also welcomes Swedish rockers The Hives, who perform a couple of tracks from their album The Hives Forever Forever The Hives, produced by esteemed producers Pelle Gunnerfeldt and Mike D of the Beastie Boys and guided by a simple philosophy to create an album 'entirely of singles ready to sell out arenas'.

Also on the show is the hugely successful US singer-songwriter Suzanne Vega. She performs her track Chambermaid, which is inspired by the chambermaid character in Bob Dylan’s I Want You and is taken from her album Flying with Angels. Jools also chats to Suzanne at the piano, and they look back at the first time she appeared on the show, which was in 1997 with her hit Tom’s Diner.

Two contrasting artists make their debut on the show. From Milton Keynes is neo-soul singer Nectar Woode, who performs the track Only Happen, which she co-wrote and produced with Jordan Rakei. And there's also London-based Wunderhorse, who perform an exclusive track following a hugely successful 2024, with the release of their top ten album Midas and supporting the likes of Fontaines D.C. and Sam Fender on tour.
