Hip hop legend Scorpio of Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five chooses the tracks that take him back to the dancefloors of his youth in Rewind Selector. Formed in 1978, the New York pioneers' use of turntablism, breakbeat DJing, and conscious lyricism was significant in the early development of hip hop music. In 1982, they achieved mainstream success with their worldwide smash hit The Message. Not only were they the first hip hop group to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, The Message was one of the 50 inaugural recordings chosen by the Library of Congress to be added to America's National Recording Registry. Today, the group's legacy continues as Grandmaster's Furious Five with Melle Mel and Scorpio as the only remaining members.
