Ardingly 5
Charlie Ross learns how to restore old film footage, and two teams hunt for bargains at one of the UK’s biggest antiques fairs, with experts Stephanie Connell and Nick Hall.
If you have reels of home movies from the 1960s, 70s and 80s gathering dust in the attic, then tune in to this episode where cine film expert Simon Papouis talks about his passion for restoring precious family memories, including tips on how to protect them from the ravages of time!
Meanwhile, focusing on winning a golden gavel at Ardingly Antiques Fair are two teams of superfans. In red are Hannah and Jason, who claim to be Bargain Hunt’s biggest fans. Browsing in blue are Gretta and Carl, who admit that being on the show is a dream come true.
With expert Stephanie Connell by their side, the blues march straight up to a silver-topped walking cane – but they'll have to watch out, as the reds are also keen on it! Expert Nick Hall distracts them with a Chinese-inspired bureau, but it’s not worth writing home about. Over in Buckinghamshire, auctioneer Hugo Lemon gives Charlie Ross his estimates on the teams’ lots.
