Schumann and Beethoven from Gateshead

The Royal Northern Sinfonia, live in concert from Sage Gateshead, perform Schumann's Cello Concerto, Beethoven's Eighth Symphony and Kaija Saariaho's tone poem Nymphéa Reflection.

Royal Northern Sinfonia, live in concert from Sage Gateshead, featuring Schumann's Cello Concerto performed by the extraordinary Russian cellist and recent BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist Anastasia Kobekina. The programme also features Nymphéa Reflection, a stunning autumnal tone poem by Kaija Saariaho. And tonight's concert ends with one of the greatest orchestral works ever written: Beethoven's Symphony No. 8.
