Nicola Heywood Thomas presents highlights of the 2022 Machynlleth Festival, recorded at the Tabernacle - a converted Wesleyan chapel. Today, the Wihan Quartet plays Janáček’s Quartet No 2, “Intimate Letters” – which has been described as his “manifesto on love”, violinist Viktoria Mullova is joined by pianist Alasdair Beatson to perform Beethoven's 4th Violin Sonata, and tenor Mark Padmore and friends delight the Machynlleth audience with two of Beethoven's Welsh folksongs.
