Monday - Sibelius in the Hague

Performances by BBC ensembles and groups from across Europe with music by Mendelssohn, Mahler, Weber Sibelius, Park, Ibert and Watkins. Presented by Penny Gore.

Penny Gore presents this week a selection of music from the BBC performing groups and European Broadcasting Union, including music by Baroque group Arcangelo as well as the Latvian Radio Choir. Today, Sibelius' Symphony No. 1 with the Residentie Orchestra The Hague, the BBC Singers with music by Owain Park, and also Weber's Clarinet Concerto No. 1 with Jorg Widmann both soloist and conductor at the helm of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.
