Episode 1
Documentary series examining the untold history of folk music in Ulster. This episode follows the story of northern folk music from the late 18th century through to the 1960s.
Is sraith úrnua trí chlár é Folk Aduaidh a dhéanann cíoradh ar scéal an cheoil tíre i gCúige Uladh, scéal nár insíodh riamh, agus ar áit an scéil sin i gcomhthéacs sóisialta, polaitiúil agus cultúrtha na linne.
An chéad chlár, rianaíonn sé scéal an cheoil tire ó thuaidh ó aimsir Edward Bunting go mall sna 1700í, go dtí na bailiúcháin mhóra amhrán a rinne Sam Henry agus Énrí Ó Muirgheasa go luath san 20ú haois, go dtí thús ghluaiseacht na gCeart Sibhialta sna 1960í.
Folk Aduaidh is a new three-part series that examines the untold history of folk music in Ulster alongside the social, political and cultural backdrop of the time.
The first episode follows the story of northern folk music from the time of Edward Bunting in the late 1700s, to the great song collections of the early 20th century by Sam Henry and Énrí Ó Muirgheasa, to the beginning of the civil rights movement in the 1960s.
