The BBC SSO's chief conductor Donald Runnicles talks to Bruce about the art of conducting, and RSAMD student Jessica Cottis reveals how she got on in his conducting masterclass.
The BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra (SSO) and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama (RSAMD) have joined forces to offer students a conducting master-class which will involve the enviable - and daunting! - opportunity of conducting the entire SSO before an audience at Glasgow's City Halls. Chief Conductor of the SSO Donald Runnicles, the RSAMD's Principle John Wallace and the Academy's first post-graduate conducting fellow Jessica Cottis talk to Bruce about the art of conducting.
