Sound Of 2025: Meet the Introducing artists on the longlist

Radio 1's Sound of 2025 has been announced, and we are pleased to say that seven of the ten chosen artists have been supported by BBC Introducing, including four of the top five.
The Sound Of list aims to showcase the most exciting rising stars in music - and it has a proven track record of predicting global superstars, with past winners including Adele, Sam Smith, Ellie Goulding, HAIM, Years & Years, Ray BLK and Sigrid.
Last year's longlist also included six Introducing-supported artists - you can read more about the Introducing artists on last year's longlist here.
This year’s longlist has been chosen by a panel of 140 industry experts and artists, including Dua Lipa, JADE, Elton John and more. Read on to find out which Introducing artists they're tipping big things for in 2025...


#2 - Ezra Collective
- Ezra Collective are a jazz quintet from London
- They have been championed by Introducing in London since 2019
- Also in 2019 they were chosen by BBC Introducing and PRS to perform at Winter Jazzfest in New York
- Their album Where I'm Meant To Be won the 2023 Mercury Prize

# 3 - Barry Can't Swim
- Barry Can't Swim is a DJ and producer from Edinburgh, now based in London
- He has been supported by BBC Introducing in London, BBC Introducing in Scotland and BBC Introducing on Radio 1 Dance
- In 2022, he performed on the Introducing Stage at Radio 1's Big Weekend in Coventry
- In 2023 he headlined the Introducing Stage at Radio 1's Big Weekend in Dundee
- Since then he has gone on to release a debut album, be nominated for the Mercury Prize, and perform at Glastonbury

#4 - Myles Smith
- Myles Smith is a singer-songwriter from Luton
- He was first played on a BBC Introducing show in 2017 and he has been supported by Introducing in Northants and Three Counties and Introducing in the East Midlands (from his university days in Nottingham)
- Since then he has performed a special Maida Vale session for BBC Introducing, and performed a hometown gig on the Introducing Stage at Big Weekend 2024 in Luton
- In 2024 he was chosen as BBC Introducing's Artist of the Year

#5 - English Teacher
- English Teacher are an art-punk band from Leeds and Lancashire
- They have been played on BBC Introducing in Leeds & Sheffield since 2019 - watch a special session they recorded for the show here
- In 2022 they performed on the Introducing Stage at Glastonbury
- In 2024 they won the Mercury Prize for their debut album This Could Be Texas

Good Neighbours
- Good Neighbours are an indie duo from East London
- They have been supported by Introducing in London
- In 2024 they performed on the Introducing Stage at Reading & Leeds
- They have been nominated for the BRITs Rising Star award for 2025

KNEECAP
- KNEECAP are a hip hop trio from Belfast
- They have been supported by Across The Line Introducing
- In 2024 a self-titled biopic film about their musical journey was released in cinemas

Pozer
- Pozer is a hip hop artist from Croydon
- He has been supported by Introducing in London and Radio 1Xtra
- In 2024 he made his TV debut on Later... with Jools Holland
