BBC London 94.9 celebrates its best Rajar ever

BBC London 94.9 is today celebrating its best set of Rajar results ever.

In the last three months, BBC London 94.9 recorded a weekly audience reach of 559,000 listeners, gaining 65,000 listeners from the previous quarter and an increase of 13,000 listeners on the previous year.

BBC London 94.9 listeners are tuning in for longer than ever before, with average listening hours rising from just over five to eight hours per listener per week, giving BBC London 94.9 a best-ever 2% share of all London radio listening, compared with 1.5% for the previous quarter and year.

David Robey, BBC London 94.9 Editor, said:"In a year when we had to rebuild the whole morning schedule, with Jono and Jo at breakfast and Vanessa Feltz mid-morning, it's a fantastic achievement to end 2006 with our best ever set of combined reach and share figures."
