Planet Earth by Alastair Fothergill is a lavish look at the Earth as never seen before, written by the series producer.

 

Planet Earth: The Future is a collection of essays by experts on environment and biology who give their answers to hugely important questions concerning the future of life on Earth. Contributors include: Archbishop of Canterbury, Sir David Attenborough, Richard Mabey and Jonathan Porritt.

 

Planet Earth and Planet Earth: The Future are published by BBC Books on 5 October, priced £25 and £7.99 respectively.

 

Planet Earth DVD

 

The five-disc set is the definitive look at the diversity of our planet, narrated by Sir David Attenborough, it includes all 11 episodes of the Planet Earth series.

 

Special features include Planet Earth - The Future, a three part series to be broadcast on BBC FOUR in conjunction with the BBC ONE series.

 

Released by 2Entertain Ltd on 27 November at £39.99.

 

Earth: the film

 

Five years in the making, earth follows the miraculous migratory journeys of three animal families – polar bear, elephant and humpback whale – as they head from the North to the South Pole.

 

Accompanying them is the sun and the influence it holds over them.

 

The remarkable footage captures the natural history of the Earth in a way that has never been done before, creating an unprecedented, epic portrait of the planet.

 

The 90-minute epic film will be in cinemas from Autumn 2007.
